last 2 days pretty good days for NIT bubble teams- only 1 #1 seed went down(UAB)....

saw the updated bracketology for NIT from 3/9....
Creighton was a 4 seed
Marquette was a 7 seed

I think Marquette is most likely done. But I think Creighton is most likely pretty safe unless we have a rash of upsets in the remaining conference tourneys where only the 1 team is going. Today is a huge day as 8 1 seeds play teams in the conference tourney where they lose and they are out. and 7 of those are vs either 4 or 5 seeds. The other 1 is Akron- they get the 12 seed today but then in the final they get either 2 or 3. Then there are 2 others left to go still besides that. And even would have to say the MWC tourney which I didn't include would be like that- San Diego St would not make the tourney, and there's no MWC teams in the NIT so they would be an NIT bid thief. So unless of those 11 tourneys 10 or 11 lose, Creighton should be pretty safe I would think.....

oops, I just moved the goalposts for Creighton.

I think they should unless like I said there's a rash of upsets today and tomorrow in the conference tourneys- which is extremely possible by the way given how this season has gone.....

Creighton needs to root for:
San Diego St
UALR
Akron
Stony Brook
Hawaii
SF Austin
New Mexico St
Weber St
Hampton
Texas Southern

just saw they updated the NIT bracketology:
http://bracketmatrix.com/nit.html

Creighton now a 5 seed projected
Marquette out.

right now Creighton would have at most if that's accurate a 8 team cushion. Just looking at the 4's ahead of them- Ohio St, Princeton, Georgia, and Hofstra. 2 of those are playing today. the other 3's with them- Va Tech, Alabama, LSU. 2 of those are playing today.

It's going to get pretty close for Creighton. I hope they make it.....

one thing I wonder is if you see the power conferences wanting to make a change to the NIT to ensure more teams like a Creighton or Marquette get to go to the NIT. It's just insane to me that Marquette is already out, and Creighton will be right on the cut line. I don't know if they would expand up to 40, with play in games for the bottom 16 teams(which would basically be mostly bid thieves along with a few teams like a Marquette quite frankly).

A fairly solid day for Creighton on the NIT bubble. Only Texas Southern lost from the NIT 1's.

then looking at what the bracketology had... projected 4 seed Ohio St lost bad and probably moves behind Creighton. projected 5 seed Alabama lost to Kentucky. Projected 5 seed LSU though did win....

So right now, we have 8 teams at the 7/8 line that are bid thieves....

so the 1's tomorrow playing-
Stony Brook- vs Vermont
Hampton- vs South Carolina St
UALR- vs La Lafayette(SF)
San Diego St
Weber St
SF Austin
New Mexico St
Hawaii

I looked at bracketmatrix and they were the 3rd worst bracketologist for the NCAA tourney. I kind of thought so when they have UConn as a 8 seed.... I think UConn is in- but no way in hell are they a 8.

So I would take that with a grain of salt.
