It will be interesting to see how well Tyler Lewis plays for Butler. I go to a fair number of NC State games each year and saw him play a number of times during his freshmen and sophomore years at NCSU. He always appeared to be at a disadvantage, both from a height and quickness perspective, against other ACC guards. He certainly wasn't as good as Cat Barber (NCSU's current point guard) although wasn't nearly as turnover prone as Barber was (is?) either.

That's definitely a worthy concern. Hopefully, Barlow gave him some tips ;) .

Reynolds and bridges both looked good against some weak competition

Reynolds played 19 minutes and grabbed 9 boards with 5 points. Although ochefue only played 20 minutes which will not be the norm. But reynolds really did look much stronger and a bit more confident and polished out there than in the past.

Bridges had 8 pts with 5 boards In 21 minutes of play. Had a real nice dunk on the break. Looks like a Shane Clark type player. Bridges is probably going to maintain his spot in the rotation as the long guard/forward role.

I went to the NCSU - William & Mary game last night. Cat Barber had an awful game. I am sure Lewis can play better than Barber did last night.

Mo Watson for Creighton will be fun to watch lead this team. He is a true point guard that sees the floor so well. Small but quick and is the true leader of this team. K. Thomas, will start as a freshman and will make things happen on both ends of the floor.

After last evening, I think it is pretty safe to say that true freshman Khyri Thomas is Creighton's leading candidate for breakout player. He looks to be a do anything guy - can get to the rim, shoot from outside, rebound and, something we haven't seen around here for awhile --- DEFEND! I think Thomas had more deflections last night than we had all of last year. Very excited about this hometown kid.

If the criteria here is guys who played limited roles last year, then Creighton's options are limited. As pointed out above, probably our most important players this year were either sitting out transfer seasons or not even on campus last year. Milliken and Zierden (prior to injury) were already significant contributors. So, for a player who was on the team, but saw limited action last year and could be poised for significant contribution this year I go with Geoffrey Groesell. Its a tough call, because his lower leg problems that have limited his play time so far in his career are probably not going to go away. If they can figure out a way to manage it so he can get us close 20 minutes per game, with a few more when we go against teams with a true, physical post, he will provide quality inside defense and get us 10 to 15 points, IMO.

The criteria are players that are going to bust out from their roles in the previous season. Whether that is a bench guy who becomes a contributing part of the rotation, or a 6th man who jumps to all conference, or even a lesser known transfer who is going to breakout as a contributor, or whatever. It's just a discussion, we don't need to strictly define the parameters of the discussion.
