2016 Big East Tourney - Thursday Quarterfinals...

Quarterfinals on Thursday:
I'd like to keep all four games in one thread. It'll be cool to see how the discussion moves during course of the day.

Georgetown vs Villanova, 12pm, FS1.
Butler vs Providence, 2:30pm, FS1.

Marquette vs Xavier, 7pm, FS1.
Creighton vs Seton Hall, 9:30pm, FS1.

To me, the day of the Big East quarterfinals is possibly my favorite college hoops day of the year, and are just as fun as the NCAA tourney's first round games. We have teams whose players are household names thanks to FS1, all under one roof in a perfect venue.

It's kinda like Christmas Eve. There's the anticipation of the upcoming later rounds to look forward to, as well as the NCAA's. It's a farewell to some teams that we've watched weekly since early November, and a sending off for our other teams to the national stage.

These are going to be 4 competitive games. Nice matchups.
Gotta love it...!
Go Big East...!!!

P.S. Does anyone else think it's funny that Syracuse's season ended today in the home of the Georgetown Hoyas?

Unless X comes out unbelievably flat I doubt we have much of a shot. I prefer this matchup more than Nova or Hall though since we were actually competitive with X twice, one of which we beat ourselves more than they beat us.

Creighton and Seton Hall are the scariest teams to me. That game should be great. Seton Hall has been on an absolute roll and Creighton is finding their groove plus have the most to gain by playing well.

All these games could be great though. Only potential blowout I think would be Nova vs Georgetown. But Hoyas might have new life in them with Hayes returning and their backs against the wall. Get the popcorn out

so far you are looking brilliant about Georgetown. Nova is shooting real well though so far....
