yes, probably several notches below, it's not like they are or you were, in any way coming close to becoming a UCLA, Kentucky, Duke or Carolina
heck, if it weren't for Dwayne Wade's final four, Xavier has arguably enjoyed more success than marquette has in the past 15-20 years and i'd say we're pretty far from being a blue blood.
Ok as long as you're being consistent. But with regards to the FF you can't just say "if it weren't for..." I mean I could throw that at you guys to and say "if it weren't for 'x' player then X wouldn't have the resume they've had" those things did happen and you can't discount them.aughnanure wrote:If it is just one notch, it is still a BIG notch. We were a Top 20 program for sure. I would still put us in the 3rd Tier though. 1st Tier would be KU, UCLA (3FF), UNC, Duke, Kentucky. 2nd Tier Michigan St, Florida, Louisville, UConn, Arizona, Texas. 3rd Tier is much bigger and includes teams like Georgetown, Villanova, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Marquette, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio St, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Memphis, etc. We didn't win enough regular season titles to be considered up there (to be fair, titles in a 16-team league are pretty ridiculously hard to get...conferences those size are just getting silly).
With all due respect Aughnanure I think depending on when you start your count from your list is pretty flawed. If you go from say 2000 there's no way you can say that UCLA even with 3 final fours is somehow more deserving of blue blood status than Michigan St or Florida or Uconn. I'd also say you'd need to better define what you consider a blue blood because Duke has 5 championships and Uconn has four, is that one championship the difference between tier one and tier 2? And with that how can you include Arizona (1NC, 1RU, 2FF) in the same tier as Florida (2 NC, 1 RU, 2FF) and UConn (4NC, 1FF). I'd dare say Arizona is closer to MU, Nova and GTown as opposed to those top teams.

just a scary thought.... if they win 3 games this weekend(to include UNC and likely Duke/ND)- their projected RPI is 53.8. Their KP is already 67 and would definitely go up..... I would guess that could get them into the tourney maybe?
