Would you currently call Nova a notch below blue blood? Because they've had literally the same amount of success that we did in that 12 year stretch.
If it is just one notch, it is still a BIG notch. We were a Top 20 program for sure. I would still put us in the 3rd Tier though. 1st Tier would be KU, UCLA (3FF), UNC, Duke, Kentucky. 2nd Tier Michigan St, Florida, Louisville, UConn, Arizona, Texas. 3rd Tier is much bigger and includes teams like Georgetown, Villanova, Butler, Xavier, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Marquette, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio St, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Memphis, etc.
Yes, well put. I'd say X and Butler are probably solidly in that third tier at this point as well.

I'd put Indiana in the second tier at least.

yes, probably several notches below, it's not like they are or you were, in any way coming close to becoming a UCLA, Kentucky, Duke or Carolina
heck, if it weren't for Dwayne Wade's final four, Xavier has arguably enjoyed more success than marquette has in the past 15-20 years and i'd say we're pretty far from being a blue blood.

I generally agree, but I gotta take issue with your placement of freaking Texas as a team on the level with Michigan State, Louisville, and UConn. Don't confuse the following of the program for its actual excellence.
Texas has been to one Final Four since the 1940s, and has never won the NCAA Tournament.
Yes, Texas made it to the tournament 9 times in the last 10 seasons (including this one), but they failed to make the second weekend in 8.
Texas won the Big 12 three times, but has failed to do so since 2008.
Further, of those three Big 12 titles, only one was won outright. Iowa State (2) has more outright Big 12 titles than Texas (1).
Fourteen of Texas' 22 SWC titles predate the Moon landing.
I would ordinarily say Texas is a program more like Illinois, but NOBODY can match Illini fans in terms of "braggadocio despite utter absence of accolades."

meh, I'm not sure they do. 2 Final Fours, yes. But outisde that pretty comparable with S16s and conference championships witht he others. Actually, Texas probably belong back in Tier 3 too. Michigan St, UConn, Louisville, Florida, and Arizona are pretty solidly ahead of the others.
