just saw this:
Rawle Alkins will make his college decision tonight on CBB live at 9pm et on @ESPNU. Final 3 Arizona, Saint John's & UNLV.

has got to be Arizona or St John's right? I can't imagine him going to UNLV...

another tweet said:
Alkins says he is also considering UNC and N.C State where he took unofficial visits.

Probably Arizona but I'd love to be wrong.

I was thinking that same thing- but then when he said after it was first posted that he's also considering UNC or NC State makes me think they could be in play as well.....

Nova is in heavy for PF Mo Bamba(#4) who attends Westtown, Ochefu's old school with Daniel's younger brother. Also PG Trevon Duval(#5), SG Lonnie Walker(#23) is a big Nova lean, plus PG Quade Green(#41) from Philly (Neumann-Goretti). We're also still in the mix for SF D.J. Harvey(#17), SF Jermaine Samuels(#56), SF Jordan Tucker(#30) and actively looking at PF Deng Gak(#55).

I hope to hell you guys get Mo Bamba. I know it is immature, but hearing his name for 4 years will make me laugh every time.

Personally I think St. John's gets Jordan Tucker, they've put in a ton of work with him and are the leaders in my opinion.

Does Alkins have eligibility issues? Either way, seems like a "me me" guy, might be addition by subtraction but who knows....

IMO, anyone who goes on live TV to announce where they are going is officially a "me me" guy.

The Alkins and St. John's flirtation is so typical. We've seen it as Nova fans as well (Wayne Ellington, Gerald Henderson, Tyreke Evans, Kobe Bryant). Kid keeps his local school in the mix to keep the local media interested. But at the end of the day he isn't really going to attend that school. No different than Cheik Diallo or Isaiah Briscoe.

Without Alkins the St. John's recruiting class is sort of blah. No players in the top 10 at their position. Shamari Ponds the only top 100 recruit. An okay Juco transfer in Bashir Ahmed and then a euor player in Freudenberg that they beat out BC for.

That's not a great class. It is a middle of the road class. Certainly not the gold mine people were hoping for from St. Christopher and not exactly the path to bring the Johnnie's back to glory.
