loss- and in 6th

Incorrect, if Marquette and PC win and Creighton loses, then there is a 3 way tie at 9-9 between Creighton, Butler, and Marquette. Creighton finishes 5th via the win over Xavier, then Butler 6th via their sweep of SH.

In this scenario

Creighton 5th
Butler 6th
Marquette 7th

wrong Head to Head is always your 1st tiebreaker... you do a mini 3 team division with those 3 teams...
Marquette 2-0 vs Butler, 1-1 vs Creighton 3-1
Creighton 1-1 vs Marquette 1-1 vs Butler 2-2
Butler 0-2 vs Marquette 1-1 vs Creighton 1-3

Marquette 5th, Creighton 6th, Butler 7th.....

It does make it pretty easy to know who to root for in the games not involving your team to get the best outcome of the conference. If all five teams fighting for a tourney spot/ seed win I think we can mark down 5 teams for sure going to the dance regardless of what happens with other conference tournaments.

My bad, forgot to include the Marquette win over Butler into the finally tally. Yes I know how the tie breakers work, a simple error done in hast. Congratulations on your quick reply, that post was going to be deleted in another 15 seconds.

Yeah, Creighton has a tough task here. Either beat Xavier or Seton Hall.

And amazing to think Butler with a loss would be in 7th place. Don't think many folks thought that back on Dec 30.

What happens in case of a 4 way tie at 9-9 between Providence, Marquette, Creighton, and Butler? Both PC and Marq. would be 4-2 while Creighton and Butler 2-4, does the tiebreaker between Marq. and PC go to head-to-head(Marq. 2-0) or best win over top team(PC win over Nova)? If it's head-to-head that means Marquette can still finish 4th.

Actually wouldn't be tied at 4-2 or 2-4
Marquette 2-0 vs PC. 2-0 vs Butler 1-1 vs Creighton 5-1
PC 2-0 vs Butler, 2-0 vs Creighton, 0-2 vs Marquette 4-2
Creighton 1-1 vs Marquette, 0-2 vs PC, 1-1 vs Butler 2-4
Butler 0-2 vs Marquette, 0-2 vs PC, 1-1 vs Creighton 1-5

So is there any scenario is which Butler finishes 6th? It looks like they're pretty much locked in to 5th or 7th, which as a Hall fan I see as a good thing!

Tie-breaker last year was first based on the records of the three tied teams against each other. MU would be 3-1 against CU and BU, while BU would be 1-3. CU at 2-2 within the mini three-team pool, and would remain in 6th.

Looking at Sagarin Predictor, that line looks like it'd be BU -11 with Ellenson. Since no one thinks he's actually going to play, I'd imagine its more like -13 or -14.

I think if PC beats St John's, Creighton beats Xavier, and Butler beats Marquette... All 3 would finish 10-8.....
PC 3-1 in mini
Creighton 2-2 in mini
Butler 1-3 in mini
