Pretty interesting thread on the realignment board about Louisville and wondering if Pitino is gone after this year....

Mack's name came up. Folks from here came on there saying they thought Mack would stay put.

I think it's really interesting. I do get that Mack is from X, and he's got them top 5 and recruiting well.

my question though is this. Does Mack view it like this is the apex that Xavier can get to? If he does, I could see him leaving Xavier quite frankly- not for the type of jobs that have been open, but for one of the 7-8 top jobs(of which Louisville is definitely one of).

It would be interesting. Hopefully he doesn't leave- but I don't think you could discount the possibility either.

I can. Mack is different from Matta and Miller. He is better paid, in a much better conference, and most importantly a Xavier product who is also from Cincinnati. He could leave some day, I suppose, but not for Louisville.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

That would be odd for Louisville to hire someone with no history of cheating or scandal......

Mack's sex life would take off at Louisville. His wife might not like that though.

Couldn't resist.

No knock on this league, but none of our teams have anything resembling the resources that Louisville has. Anyone that has been to the KFC Yum! Center knows exactly what I mean. Louisville is a big-time job.

This doesn't mean Mack is gonna go, though. He's in a good place, and he's successful. Don't mess with happy.

I think they would have to pay an ungodly sum to get him away from X. Even that may not be enough given his history there. Also, might depend on the penalty handed to Louisville. If they get a multi-year post season ban then I could see them having trouble attracting a coach.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I don't know that it'd be more than a 1 year ban, which they're doing this year.

It must be March. Speculation on Mack leaving X. At least I feel if he doesn't leave for a Louisville, this may be truly it for that speculation.

Top 5 is pretty much the apex of any job. Not sure Louisville is a top 7/8 job. Definitely Top 15. Falls in with a lot of those Tier 2 blue-bloods.

That's the one thing they for sure have.

Yeah. Money is not an issue for Louisville.
