Nova #1 overall seed

Nova deserves a #1 seed to everyone....except if you are Doug Gottlieb. That toolbag actually argued last night that Maryland is better than Nova...and that was even after Maryland lost to Minnesota. He said it on Twitter, not just once, but when he got called on it, kept at it. But guess who deleted those tweets today? As a fan of the Big East, it rankled me.

Yes he is a tool, but ignore him. He has always been anti-nova, but he has been proven right in the tournament the last two years. Nova needs to go on a serious tournament run this year and he'll stay quiet for awhile

Yeah he actually used that argument on Twitter when replying to me. But that history is irrelevant, he specifically said Maryland is better than Nova this year. Based on every type of measurable factor, Nova is better than Maryland this year. Then it went into bashing the Big East compared to the Big Ten...totally ignoring that both Kenpom and RPI trackers have the Big East ahead of the Big Ten (which surprised me some). When shown actual numbers, he has no case outside of the BS "eye test"...

Just go to Kenpom and realtimerpi and compare the two. Hell, even the stupid ESPN BPI has Nova better. This isn't whether Nova is overrated, it's that he is VASTLY overrating Maryland.

There isn't a single team in the country this year if labelled the #1 overall seed, that's NOT going to get called overrated. There just are no #1 overall seed type of teams this season, but someone got to get it, it might as well be Nova. Not that I'm biased or anything.

You could make a case there are no normal #1 seed teams period, forget overall. I don't think Nova's resume in some ways is close to Nova last year. Last year 13-1 vs top 50 teams with lowest one being #44. This year only 6-3.
