I think tonight's Temple - Nova matchup speaks volumes about the AAC. It was a 23 point game with 10 to go and Nova just completely eased off the gas. Fran Frischilla referred to it as "a complete clinic."

Temple is the top team in the AAC and they were on their home floor in front of a sold out crowd. I understand teams can have an off game but if you watched the game it was clear that there is a huge talent gap between the two programs.

Here's the issue for the AAC... Short of UCONN's win at Texas there are few signature wins OOC. When a team like Temple who has frankly dominated the other potential tourney teams in conference, and then get completely undressed by Nova on their home floor this late in the season, it reflects very poorly on the entire conference. National TV game in a big spot, the AAC lays an egg. I would think committee members who watched now have a definitive (negative) impression of Temple. And even if you concede that Temple is not tournament worthy, the Bearcats and the Huskies have both lost to this team TWICE. The entire conf could be seen as suspect. Look at the AAC's games vs true tourney teams. Not good. Not good at all.
Go Nova!

UConn I don't think will have any issue at all. They have the wins OOC with Texas, Michigan(albeit diminished still a decent win OOC), Georgetown, and Ohio St. That's not too bad. Cincy could have some issues- although they do have wins over GW and VCU- 2 teams that could be battling with them for the tourney spot. Tulsa interesting as well. They have a good OOC win vs Wichita.

Too many people are discounting USF. At 6-21, they are the easy favorite to get the first pick in the AAC draft.
