I don't have permission to post this on the board and the admin or mods can remove this post if they like, but I mentioned to stever that I was going to add a new forum within our AAC board for general college hoops talk with the thought that some of the discussion here which irritates many of you could be relocated there. That way if you enjoy the exchanges with stever we welcome you to join on in the discussion there and I don't have any plans to moderate people's posts as the area will be open for whatever people want to discuss so it won't feel like trolling if you want to rant about something non AAC.

Anyway you can visit if you like and maybe we can get stever to focus his time there. I actually like the detail with which he posts but I understand why on a Big East specific board many of you may not.

I don't understand why folks here want to demonize the AAC quite frankly. And no, it isn't just because of me. The way folks talk about the AAC here- you'd think their standings were what the MWC is right now. The MWC is a complete and utter dumpster fire. 2 teams in the RPI top 100. 1 in the top 90(and that #48). Meanwhile the AAC has 5 teams in the top 100(even removing SMU), with 2 in the top 50. But no one talks at all about the MWC at all.

and before you say well the AAC is closer to the MWC than the Big East....

The Big East is closer to the AAC than they are the Big 12. I don't see folks saying the Big East isn't competitive with the Big 12 here now do I?

I don't want to demonize the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCC. I just don't give a damn about them. That's why I don't understand why you push the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCC so hard on a Big East board. But this thread, at least, is hilarious.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

Question, and I'd like you to give it some thought before you respond; Why do you care what we think about the AAC? Why is it so important to you to right this evil? It's an awful odd justice campaign to choose when there are so many worthy causes out there where your massive free time could be put to better use.

Not sure this answers Marquette's question.

Personally, I really don't care about the AAC, and I feel a little disappointed to see that conference unnecessarily woven into so many threads here. I do find it tiresome.

You didn't "give it some thought" as asked. Because if you did, your response wouldn't be rehashing why you are frustrated. The questions is: why does this impact you so much what BE fans think of the AAC? Why do you care so much?

I can visit a Temple Board or a Syracuse or Pitt board and see them trash Nova and my reaction is that they have some insecurities to work out. Pitt's no longer recruiting kids in NYC and Philly, Cuse won't be the same when their cheating, whiny coach retires and Temple, well is Temple. The Owls haven't been relevant for a decade or more. Any negative comments are almost expected considering the board members, and the recent success of the Nova brand, and the outlook of said brand in the foreseeable future. I don't need to fight some righteous battle with them to defend Nova's honor.

This is a BE board. We believe in the BE. We happen to think that, as a BB conference, we were very big winners in the conf realignment shake up of 2012-13. There is buzz around this conference and there is excitement for each game. The AAC, conversely, puts out a very mediocre product with half (or completely) empty arenas. It's obvious that they are focused on FB. You take a comment like that as "demonizing the AAC." I take it as a casual observation. When I said the AAC was a two bid last year you called me an "idiot." Like yoyu, I looked at the #s and didn't buy into them. The committee didn't either. Yet when I was proven correct you offered nothing--no mea culpas or "hey, I was wrong, and I shouldn't have called you an idiot." Just more defensiveness. I think people would respect you and your opinions a whole lot more if you were just up-front about them. Admit that you are not a G'town fan and that you are a fan of the AAC, and we can all move on. I have more respect for that BearCat Dunce guy as he at least is unapologetic about who he roots for when he comes on here.

I have been on this board almost since its inception. Stever always thought the C7, and more importantly Georgetown, would've been better off going with the AAC instead of the NBE. You have to remember, when the split happened AAC looked like it might be halfway decent. Unfortunately for AAC fans, the AAC has been at best mediocre. Stever should be happy because Georgetown and the C7 made the right choice.

A few things. First of all, that's not an answer to my question. Why do you care what our opinion of the AAC is? Is it really worth your time here to antagonize people? I never mentioned anything about the AAC not being competitive, I didn't say anything at all about the Big 12 and neither did the Xavier fan and yet you instantly launch into another vigorous defense. That doesn't strike you as odd?

I'm not going to respond to your arguments. First of all because I didn't come in here to involve myself in that kind of discussion, but second, and this is really the key, it isn't worth my time.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

That has to be a part of his MO...to "claim" that he is the biggest poster/fan on this site. 6k, 8k, 10k posts and that The Steverrrr is the Biggest BE fan, even though it is well known he is a midmajor troll and moderator on that midmajor site.

Go Steverrrr...go home to your main board and be a moderator, or better yet - go to Wichita. ;)

Seems like a reasonable solution to me.

We should make a list of people here who might be better served there. Doing so would sure reduce the clutter here.

Wow, Stever. You've motivated Gtmo to post something other than some variation of "the Jays will win the next game by 50 points." I've seen Gtmo's posts on various boards for a good 5+ years, and I can't honestly remember him posting anything that didn't elicit "Gtmo's drinking the blue koolaid" comments.

When Gtmo is tired of your shtick and calls you a troll and orders you off the site, you've maybe, possibly, just possibly, gone too far.

What's next? I'm heading to my bunker to wait it out!
