The Friars lose Dunn and probably Lomomba (would be a 5th year).

Before the season I thought Lomomba would be gone after this year. After the improvements he's made I have to believe Cooley will be welcoming him back with open arms next year if Lomomba is interested.

I believe we have two openings without Lomomba leaving. One scholarship not being used this year (already taken by Maliek White) and then Dunn's scholarship opening as well. I wouldn't be shocked if at least one more player leaves (a couple guys who are seeing next to no playing time - one who wasn't mentioned in your post).

Edit: Just saw that the original poster indicated that by "much worse" he meant not a Top 25 team. That part I probably agree with for now. However, I think they will battle for a spot in the dance with Bentil.

NovaBall, SJU will be better than you're giving credit.

LoVett, a 4 star top 100 player and highest ranked recruit coming into this year, will be eligible and take over at PG. We don't have a PG this year which is really hurting.

Mussini will be a year older and take on his nature position away from the the ball.

Yakwe has been solid and will return.

Sima has been good and should be a top player with time (he was injured today).

Ponds is a top 30 recruit, enough said.

Ahmed is the highest ranked JUCO recruit this year and will contribute immediately.

Freudenberg is a top 100 recruit and looks to be in the bag.

And we're still in the mix for other top players.

Won't mention everyone else since I think they'll mostly be role players, but the starting rotation will be very talented and likely 4 out of 5 positions will have new players taking over. Legitimately good players who would start on most Big East squads.

If we finish 10th that would be a complete failure.

X loses Farr and Abell. Jury still out on Reynolds but most expect him to leave, even tho he hasn't improved his resume much this year. Returning should be Sumner, M. Davis, Macura, Bluiett, London, O'Mara, Larry Austin Jr and Gates. We get Rashid Gaston for 1 yr. who averaged 16.5 ppg last yr., Quentin Goodin, PG, a potential mr. basketball in KY., F Eddie Ekiyor and PF Trique Jones, all excellent additions. Lot of shooters and rebounders and leadership. Should be a good year.

I think players are starting to arrive at at johns. But they aren't really immediate impact players. I think next yr they will be better than this year, but still battling among the bottom three. The players will need some time to develop before the wins come around.

Maquette should be slightly better regardless of Henry's status, but our projection really depends on what PF we get in the Spring if Henry leaves. There will plenty of minutes available immediately at that position, so should be able to get a commit from a JUCO or Spring transfer.

Also, sharp shooter Andrew Rowsey will be eligible. 20 pets/game PG in his two years at UNC-Asheville and should help Marquette's outside shooting problems (Butler game not withstanding). Was pursued by numerous high-majors.

Here is a video clip of spellman from the summer. I don't think he will be a legit big man next year. I like him a lot, but I think he is going to take time to develop and get in shape/bulk up before he is a real force. He will be a warm body in the paint next year, and at this point that is better than nothing.

FWIW,

I was just talking about this on the St. John's board, the St. John's staff did a great job with the Rawle Alkins official visit this weekend. Capped it off tonight by bringing him to the Knicks/Warriors game, Mullin was able to pull some strings and get him into the locker room where he met Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and the rest of the team.

If we don't get Rawle, our backcourt will still be pretty good next year. If we do, Ponds, Lovett, and Rawle will probably all start which would make for a young but lethal 3 guard lineup.

No offense, but we all know Rawlie is just playing the game. Keep the johnnies in the mix to keep the local media interested in the recruiting process. Cheick Diallo style. Nova's been played like that more than once. Tyreke Evans, Wayne Ellington, Gerald Henderson, etc... It's the same thing lance Thomas did with Rutgers.

If the johnnies land Rawlie, that will be a good sing as to whether slice is worth the money.

We lose Groselle and Milliken but have everyone else back. Add Marcus Foster who was a All-Big XII player and Justin Patton, a top 50 center who is redshirting to add weight and I think most Creighton fans will be really disappointed if we don't make the NCAAs next year.

Doesn't Butler have a real solid recruiting class coming in? If I remember correctly I thought I saw they had 3 Rivals Top 150 players coming in.
