It would be tough to pass over Dunn as POY, even with his turnovers.

His BE stats through 6 games:
18.5 ppg.
6.5 rebs.
5.6 asts.
2.3 steals.
4.5 turnovers.
45.5 FG%.
44.8 3P%.
34.0 minutes a game.
Those are very strong numbers, and I think we all agree that he hasn't even hit his stride yet in BE play.

Plus the other intangibles:
- constant double-teaming, occasional triple-teaming... how can a coach have a permanent double team on a guy, and an occasional triple-team, and not lean towards voting for him. I like Josh Hart, but how often does he get doubled?
- game winner at Creighton.
- scored a boatload in last 10 minutes at Butler.
- highlight reel assist then game clincher at home to Butler (even though it was banked).
- decision to return to work on his game and get his degree really looks good for him, PC and the BE, sets great example.
- great personality, sportsmanship and perfect representative of the Big East.
- 1st team All-American and National POY candidate.
- plus, although it's the BE POY, they will naturally consider his non-conf games, game winners vs Arizona, quadruple-double bid.

I would say unless someone else really overperforms, then the BE POY is going to Dunn.

It'll be interesting. Think part of it is how the team performs.

also, I don't think in the award voting him coming back to school will play much of a part of it....

He can't continue to play like he has especially the last 4 games. He does that- he won't be the 1st team All-American or National POY candidate. Though I will say some of the voters for that are pretty lazy and he may get that on reputation.

Kind of a dual discussion I another thread, but in 1996 we had a similar situation where one guy passed on the draft to return and was the consensus pick (Kittles), but a young player emerged around mid-season as the man (Ray Allen). Both had gr8 years, Kittles still was drafted in the lottery, but Ray Allen passed him.

Chelsea Friar posted a good article from their January 1996 game, postponed due to snow, where Ray Allen really took over the race by out playing Kittles. Kind of similar to this Saturday's game. Josh Hart to lead Nova to a double digit victory on FOX while Kris Dunn sits on the bench with 4 fouls to go along with his 6 turnovers, and the tides will have officially shifted in favor of Hart for POY.

Good Lord man, you are a piece of work. A shrink would have a field day with your mind. Quite a thread linked below.

Mods, can you change his username to BasketballTroll? Let's at least be honest with everyone.

I know I am a Villanova fan, but I can't be the only person who finds these posts highly entertaining. I am literally laughing out loud right now. I am also shaking my head, but the humor is definitely there.

Kris Dunn, is a well-spoken young man and an amazing basketball player. I know his story and I could not be more proud of him. Whatever good things he has coming his way, he deserves. Truly a success story. I stand and applaud for Kris Dunn. Let Kris have it this year and Josh come back and win it next year. Regardless, when I read things like, "Josh Hart to lead Nova to a double digit victory on FOX while Kris Dunn sits on the bench with 4 fouls to go along with his 6 turnovers, and the tides will have officially shifted in favor of Hart for POY." I just have to laugh. I love this guy's enthusiasm though!

If we beat Providence by double digits than we truly are a very good team. I think we are a very good team regardless, but I just don't see Providence laying down like that. Like against Butler, Georgetown, and Seton Hall it is going to be a battle. This league is TOUGH.

I'm a St. John's fan some might know me from redmen, after reading that horrific nova thread on here I joined the site. I think right now Hart is having a great year but I think dunn is a shoe in. He played amazing at butler and at home against my johnnies. Honestly, his worst games have probably been at creighton, and at home against butler, and he hit a buzzer beater in one and a clutch three in the other. He's a beast
