For arguments sake now, if GTown goes 11-7 in big east play and beats UConn in their upcoming game where does that put them in terms of the tourney ?

GTown x1000. Tonight was a window into the team GT could've been all year but didn't have the motivation so now they are stuck in the NIT

I'd say about even. X didn't bring their a game, and that's what separates the great from the good.
Consistency. But that's also what seperate the the good from the mediocre, which is what gtown has lowered themselves into with that horrid ooc. Gtown is very talented, just not the right offense for that group, but any offense works when you shoot like they did tonight. This is a team that if they won the bet could make some noise in the tourney, but could also lose to anyone, But that's why we play the games.

I think it says something about Georgetown which makes it hard to understand the games against Radford, UNC Asheville and Monmouth. Hats off to Georgetown. They were hitting 3's tonight and Xavier couldn't get a run going.

Not true at all. Their SOS should be outstanding, now have a top 5 road win, bad losses hurt their resume but if they can get rolling here..

Georgetown jumps from 106 to 72 in the RPI  . Still outside looking in but now in the conversation...Xavier's RPI of 3 stays at 3.

RPI went up to 72. If they were to beat Connecticut (Which I hope they don't) they would be right back in NCAA bubble

Maybe. The other thing of note is that X this year is the hunted, more than the hunter. The degree of difficulty in each game is increased b/c teams with tourney aspirations in need of signature wins are highly motivated when they face you and you have to match their intensity. I think tonight was an example of that. When you are in the Top 10 you get other teams' best efforts. Being able to match that intensity consistently over an 18 game schedule in a very competitive conference is not easy.

Or in Stever's world 72 is a solid tourney team (or at least by AAC standards).
