And I think it's even more hysterical and quite sad actually that you as an obvious fan of the AAC spend so much time (5000 posts) on a BE basketball board telling us how the BE is going to falter and the AAC is its equal. And what's the most hysterical part of it is that you have been proven wrong at just about every turn.

Stever examples vs the truth:

1."A BB conf without major college FB will struggle"
WRONG. We are much stronger than any of us cold have imagined. Top 3 RPI that last 2 years.

2. "The BE won't be able to compete with the P5 for recruits."
WRONG. Strong class after strong class from top to bottom.

3. "The BE and the AAC are on the same level."
WRONG. The BE is top 3 RPI. The AAC is a mid major, competing with the likes of the MWC and Colonial conferences.

4. "Your media contract is terrible. ESPN will always dominate sports programming."
WRONG. FS1 promotes the hell out of our conf at every turn, including during NFL games. All games can be viewed as national broadcasts in crystal clear HD. No more games on regional ESPN 3. Each school makes more money on just hoops than the AAC schools make from ESPN on hoops and FB (now that has got to sting). And oh BTW ESPN just laid off a ton of people. Uh-oh. I guess they are not the impenetrable giant after all.

5. "The AAC and BE should get the same number of bids."
WRONG. Unless 6=2

6. "The BE has to expand and fast to compete for more bids."
WRONG. We are just fine. No need to expand. We can pick and choose who we want and when. Conversely the AAC is like a Police holding cell on a Saturday night--everyone looking at each other wondering how the hell they got here, trying to make the best of it, but can't wait to get out.   now that's "hysterical!"

So here we are 3 years into the HLOH existence. 5,000 posts later and you have nothing to show for it. Why do you put yourself through this? It's truly sad. And the worse part about it is that you have never been honest with us. Just admit that you are an AAC homer and not a fan of the BE and be done with it. At least we'd have more respect for you. You are the Moderator of an AAC forum for God's sake.

Now run back in your hole until someone loses so you can crawl out and try to feel better about yourself and the lousy second rate conference you support.

Football at the level of the AAC, Conference USA, and even the MAC just isn't viable. Its a money-wasting venture with only a fool's hope of success. Every several years a league like this can have a glimmer of success like this season in the AAC, but the the insurmountable gravity of the reality of the sport will inevitably pull it back to itself. It is a shame once fine basketball programs, like Miami, have torpedoed their basketball for JV football. It will be a shame of several higher degrees when UConn does the same. The equilibrium for these programs is well defined in the form of Conference USA. You either are already it, or will be soon. That's just the mid major FBS reality.

I guess it's a little over your head then. We've taken a bunch of shit about the postseason fair or not, so when we get a chance to dish it out it shouldn't be a big surprise. You know what's hysterical, you taking every opportunity to run Nova and BE down about post season, yet here you are defending the AAC post season. At this point it's a surprise to absolutely no one on this board, Mr. AAC homer.

BTW, one major difference in these post season. In one you have in be in the top 14% of all team in DI just to make the legit tourney, remember SMU getting snubbed with a 23-8 record there steve-o?. In the other you can have a losing record and play a bowl game, Nebraska 5-7 ring a bell? What % of DI teams play in bowl games? Just looked it up, 80 out of 128 or 62.5%

Conference of Americans football teams are playing in the equivalent of the CBI tournament for their bowls, and getting their butts kicked.

I think it's hilarious to hear a AAC fan rip nova's post seasons as if Scottie Reynolds didn't play at villanova.

Also, most uconn fans I know are aware of their situation. They aren't really thinking that a 6-7 football season out of a crappy conference is a good thing. Most of them would rather put football in the Mac and then hoops in the big east. I don't know one uconn fan who is proud of, or even cares about, their football team.

Right now we are struggling and I think we are a two bid league that would clearly be 3 if SMU wasn't ineligible. Cincinnati is just a couple of seconds from beating both Butler and Iowa St. So it's not the end of the world and hopefully we get a couple teams into the tournament and make some noise there.

Good luck to all of your teams and Merry Christmas.

This board is flooded with some conference of Americans trolls like stever. Otherwise I don't think any posters here know what is going on with that dumpster fire.

Scottie Reynolds was a long time ago.

The top 3 AAC teams have yet to play. If all 3 of those teams win, it's not a bad bowl season for the AAC. Period.

About UConn, their recruiting has not taken a hit at all whatsoever. What do they have, the #5 recruiting class in the COUNTRY this year? Conference not holding them back at all. Folks on here can say what they want to, but conference means FAR less in basketball than it does other places. Look at Gonzaga. WCC isn't as good as the AAC, but that's not stopped Gonzaga now has it?

Stever, agree UCONN is a great program. It's a shame they have to be part of that terrible conference. They deserve better and will get better when they drop their dillusions of being a major FB program and return to where they would thrive: the BE.

BTW, not sure if you noticed but the BE is a pretty damned good conference, isn't it?

Scottie reynolds was in 2009. That was a long time ago? I was at that game and it feels recent enough. Guess you are probably pretty young if that is you perspective on time. When you get older a few years won't seem like too long a period of time.

Anyway, at what you want about uconn not taking a hit in your eyes, but their fans hate their conference, want out, and hate that football is ruining their hoops team. They realize that cincinatti out of the old-usa under Huggins is what they are now looking at. They are no longer a prominent team in the northeast landscape as they are out of sight, out of mind. A team on an islands surrounded by a bunch of random community colleges from the south and Midwest.

What bowls are the teams playing in? Did the AAC make any real bowl games? I don't watch any college football, so I don't know, but dont most teams make a bowl game but only a handful of bowl games matter?
