So a night of mixed results. Nova, DePaul, and Creighton losses were expected and your teams played solid. I think you represented the conference well. Tough losses, but you should hold your heads high. Xavier kept rolling as Xavier does. Keep up the good work. I didn't get to watch any of the PC game, but if I'm correct you won again short-handed. Well done. Butler with an excellent and unexpected win over Purdue. Congrats Bulldogs. Seton Hall with a great upset. Georgetown, as a fan of a team with a head-scratcher or two I feel your pain. Overall 4-4 on a day we were expected to go 3-5 is a positive.

This week in AP top 25 upsets (the only upsets this week were from today. I looked at the whole week since Monday)
#4 Kentucky lost to unranked Ohio State (at tOSU), probably wind up towards the bottom of the top ten or just outside.
#5 Iowa State (at home) lost to unranked UNI, likely drop to just outside the top ten.
#7 Duke (at home) lost to unranked Utah. I expect a drop out of the top 10.
#16 Baylor lost to #24 Texas A&M (at A&M), likely a slight drop (and a boost for Arizona State=small boost for MU and CU).
#22 UCLA (home) lost to #11 UNC, probably won't fall much.

Other Teams Receiving votes in the AP Poll that went down:
#31 Wichita (to our very own Seton Hall
#35 Georgetown 2X (sorry guys, had to include it)
#38 Notre Dame (to Indiana)

#33 Arkansas-Little Rock plays Northern Arizona tomorrow (technically today)
#34 Pittsburgh plays Davidson tomorrow
#44 Army plays Marist tomorrow

All of that is to say that that #10 Xavier, #14 Providence, and #17 Butler will probably rise in the rankings. Congrats all.
Here's hoping MU gets a couple more votes in the poll next week.
I used the AP because that's what ESPN/FS1/CBSSports/NBCSports use.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Iowa State, Duke, Kentucky and UCLA were not home games. I see you weren't watching hoops this weekend.

Iowa State was in DesMoines, Iowa
UCLA was in Brooklyn
Kentucky was in Brooklyn
Duke was in New York

Damn... The bottom of the conference has officially crapped out on us. St. John's looses to NJIT. What the heck is going on? The league has fallen off so much this weekend in WPCT. RPI is also hurting. We'll be lucky this year if we get 5-6 bids considering that there will be upset in league play that will hurt our top teams.

Yesterday was a pretty good day.

The big three games wee nova, butler and seton hall. Could have gone 0-3 in those, start of the season that would have been projected, and we went 2-1. Thas great.
Xavier looked awesome against another major conference team and PC won short handed.

Georgetown sucks.
Creighton wasn't supposed to win at Oklahoma
St. John's won their big game last week, so whatever on the rest of the season.
Depaul has a new arena being built (that's all I will say about that dumpster fir of a program)

Why would people be down about yesterday? The only negative game for a possible tourney team was nova, but that was a road game against a top ten team. Road wins against tops ten teams only happen a few times a decade for any given program, and even less for others. Can't be too down about that one.

For RPI purposes- it'd be better for St John's to have lost to Syracuse and beaten the 2 other teams. From a record standpoint- if they had done that it's 1.2-1.4. Now instead, their record for those 3 games is 0.6-2.8. HUGE difference there.

And sorry- but St John's RPI right now is about 40 spots behind DePaul.

From a real world standpoint, ti was infinitely better for johnnies to beat cuse and rip those other games. It was a huge win form heir perception.

Who cares about this little rpi fractions? Oh, Stever dies because he cannot seen he big picture (or he can but as a resident troll he always has to argue against reality)

I mean, the last 2 losses are awful but ur right about that Cuse win. Johnnies hosted a ton of recruits for that game.

that's no small RPI fractions. If they had won both games this weekend but lost last weekend- they would be almost .500 for the 3 games combined. .462. But the way they've done it- it's .176. That difference will be added 2x to every single team this year in the Big East.

Also- would say before the 3 game stretch St John's was #195 in Ken Pom. They are now #221.

Numerically it'd have been better to go the other way. From a recruiting standpoint like DudeAnon says- it's probably better this way. Perception wise- it's close to a wash quite frankly.

RPI is important to get our teams into the NCAAs. We don't wanna have those weak teams in the RPI that will bring the top teams down. It matters. I'm surprised you are disregarding how important the RPI is when it comes to selection.

The league was actually better in the RPI last year and that's why it got six bids. This year the bottom of the league has crapped out starting with the Monmouth/Incarnate word loses. Our worst teams shouldn't be losing to mid-major/low major conferences. It shouldn't happen. No way around it
