Providence and Seton Hall say hello. And even Marquette.

This kind of thinking though is moronic. It's no longer the C7 and the new 3. It's the Big East. If Georgetown and St John's are bad- it impacts Xavier just as much as it impacts Villanova.

Not sure that's fair.

I'm not sure if I agree with that. You have teams losing, on the regular, to low majors and (arguably more important) elite teams never beating anyone they're not "supposed" to beat. It has to get better. Of course, Georgetown can't lose to Big South teams multiple times during a OOC, but VU has to actually come away with wins like yesterday. I'm not trying to be cruel, but this is a problem that has become pretty apparent -- and I'm not convinced St Johns,
In particular, hired someone who can actually win those meaningful games -- and that's to say nothing of Georgetown gainfully employing some who should've been fired years ago.

It isn't, be like saying that the new schools didn't hold up their end of the bargain the first couple years. I don't get this new school vs. C7 stuff that some posters keep trying to stir up. Get over it, we're one conference, there is no more new schools or C7, only the BE.

Exactly. WE are collectively the Big East.

I'm very happy to have the teams we do (so other X fans don't jump on me), but just for the sake of argument. ...

The C7 held up their end of the bargain by increasing your TV income ten fold.
The C7 held up their end of the bargain by giving you BE name and profile to recruit with. We could have stayed with UConn, Cincy, Temple, and Memphis. Dregs aside that's not a bad conference.
The C7 held up their end by bringing our tournament credits in.
The C7 saved you from a mid-major mediocre conference where your highest profile opponents were dayton and VCU.
The C7 took you coming off a 17 win season. If we'd have taken dayton we'd have an elite 8 in the league already.
You weren't brought in to compete with DePaul. Congrats on meeting expectations. And you haven't played novas schedule, so let's wait and see how those games go.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he a Creighton fan and not a X fan? That's even worse. MVC's deal they pay money to get on ESPN.

You might be right. If so, then my bad to X fans. Creighton has a even less of a leg to stand on though. Change dayton to Wichita and you have basically the same situation.

Once again, I'm very happy to have the teams we do. Just pointing out a logical fallacy

EDIT: and I agree it is no longer the C7 and new 3, we need to move beyond that.

Nope, Edrick's a Butler fan.
“Even though I’m not playing I still don’t want my school to be disrespected, because I play for the name on the front of my chest, not the name on my back. I’m a part of this family now, and when they disrespected them they disrespected me”-Mo Watson Jr.

Dang it. Well, applies to Butler just as much. Awful first season, biggest game UW-Milwaukee.

EDIT: long story short, every program has warts. We can all find things to tear each other down about. There's really no reason to.
