Like seriously, the guy (Willard) has been there for FIVE years and he's never taken his Pirates to a postseason, not even the NIT. Not acceptable, man. Also, back to JT3 and Georgetown, Jon Rothstein tweeted this and I really think this could be said now: "Would refrain from making impulse statements after one win or loss in CBB. Season is a journey. The great teams withstand the test of time". I'm certainly guilty of making impulse statements (Like I made about my Bluejays after losing to Loyola) but it's still good food for thought. It settles you down a bit.

Actually he did get them to 1 NIT, not that that's impressive. It's made even worse by the fact that they seemingly had an NCAA bid in the bag that year, needing to win just 1 of their last 2 games against Rutgers and DePaul to lock it up. Instead, they lost both and ended up as the #1 overall seed in the NIT.

I saw some of Monmouth's win vs Notre Dame and loss vs Dayton. They're a really good team that's quick, shoots lights out, and plays with enthusiasm and is fearless. Georgetown should never lose to a MAAC team, but this isn't a disaster. Besides the Irish, Monmouth has beaten UCLA and Southern Cal. I have no idea how Canisius with Jim Baron beat them, but maybe they were bored?

Monmouth's bench is pretty entertaining though annoying. Can't believe King Rice allows them to do all that stuff. But they definitely have fun over there and play loose. And they can't miss it seems from 3.

Also, the Big East isn't a place where we should be tearing our hair out at every little blip. In the end, Monmouth will have a good RPI, and Georgetown will be rewarded for stacking their schedule with Maryland, Duke, Wisconsin, Syracuse and Connecticut.

Also, Georgetown's wins vs Syracuse and Wisconsin were much more important than tonight's loss.

Georgetown won't be rewarded if they're only 17-14. The Radford and Monmouth losses would absolutely be keeping them out of the tourney. You are living in yesteryear if you think that would get in the tourney. Last year only 1 team with fewer than 20 wins got in the tourney, and only 5 with 13 losses got in(none with 14- let alone the 15 with the BET loss). That's the issue for the Hoya's now. They need wins.

Those sound awfully like...EXCUSES! Georgetown is supposed to be a top-10 program and they are honestly a joke at this point. I don't get it, could you imagine the uproar if Duke, UK or Michigan State were losing these games?

I honestly believe that JT3 and his team believe they are superior to the BE and all the small schools they play. Its not hard to see, they get up for all the big games and sleep through everyone else.

What he doesn't understand is that the real big dogs don't play this way, they play with a chip on their shoulder even when they are ranked #1 in the country. The program needs a new culture.

Great comments Dudeanon, very astute and to the point.

It seems the ol' Foggy Bottomites (da Hoya hangin' Saxa-phonists) are a 6-4 duck. Yeah, they have a lot of talent. Yeah, they are supposed to be a Flagship program in our league. Yeah, they have a responsibility to lead the conference-based on their longstanding rich history, tradition, and championships. Doesn't look as though they are gonna lead this year...and may not make the dance. Yeash, they are critically underwhelming this year. Come on Hoyas, the conference needs you to get your shit in one sock.
