You could only not like him if his Friars are facing your team (if you're not a Providence fan obviously). That said, Cooley is not only a fantastic coach but he's an absolute class act and I think everyone should be glad he's a part of this league.

I love Ed Cooley too.....If I'm not mistaken, I think he is from the Providence area so he could be one of those coaches who already has his dream job.....

Congrats to PC! This will only help recruiting. I wish SJ did stuff like this. Carnesecca Arena looks like it's from the 1980's still and is a glorified HS gym. We have lots of famous alumni with some fat wallets, and we have 3x the endowment of PC so I will never understand why we can't do these things. Yes, we play at MSG, but no one wants to go to some crappy high school gym that is 100 degrees with no back support for 75% of its seats. This has long been a complaint for SJ fans. Anyway, enjoy it! PC has a great campus.

Here's a little background for you guys who aren't all that familiar with Coach Cooley (as told by himself in his "heavier" days lol). But yea the guy ain't leaving Providence for any college in the country. I'm seriously convinced. If Duke offered Cooley, he's saying "no, thanks." He bleeds black and white more than anybody on this planet, and he shows it. Off to the side of this video on youtube is his acceptance speach when he was announced as PC's head coach. Check out the first 3 minutes or so. Providence struck a goldmine with this guy.

Wow! Huge news for PC! Will definitely help with recruiting. I think Villanova's athletic center was only $20 million dollars, but it is a tremendous facility and certainly helps with recruiting. With almost $40 million dollars I imagine PC is really going to have something special. Cooley is the man. Congrats PC fans.
