No fracture for Bentil. Now I guess it's figuring out how long what seems to be a sprain will keep him out...

Richard at scoutfriars said it was a mild sprain for Bentil, no break nor fracture. Where did you hear 4-6 weeks? I heard Fazekas might be 4-6 weeks cuz of mononucleosis.

I did read that Dunn, Bentil and Fazekas will all miss the Bryant game tomorrow (Kevin McNamara).

well if it's 4-6 weeks....
4 weeks would be now until Jan 8.
would miss Bryant, Rider, UMass, Butler, St John's, Marquette.
5 weeks would mean he'd miss Creighton, Seton Hall
6 weeks would mean he'd miss Butler, Villanova

Just looking at Ken Pom's BE projected, they're supposed to go 9-9 in conference play. But in those 9 wins, 4 of them are St John's, Marquette, Seton Hall, and Butler. @ Creighton projected already to be a loss.

I think if they can beat UMass, they are 12-1 OOC. if they can go 8-10 in conference, they would be 20-11(projected RPI of 43.5). I think they would be safe. Where they would need to win 3 of St John's, Marquette, Seton Hall, Butler, @ Creighton.

Where it gets dicey is if they are only 7-11. RPI still 53.8 projected. They would be an interesting case.

Tough break for the Friars, as if you guys haven't had enough of them in recent years. Just to echo what someone else said on here a little bit ago, Bentil is the most improved player in the BE and it's not even close. He went from averaging like what?, 6 pts. & 5 reb. to 18 & 8, he has just exploded.

Bentil out 4-6 weeks? Has that been confirmed...link?
That is unfortunate...

Not confirmed. Rumors on other message boards from people with "sources". Could be true but not confirmed.

Also, Cooley is often quiet about these things. Often calls it "day-to-day" even if it goes on for a few weeks.

The Selection Committee supposedly takes injuries into account, so that might help if the Friars have unexpected losses because of this. You just never want to leave things to the good graces of the Committee.

I think he'll be back for the UMass game. Rider sucks, so he can rest the ankle even more.
