Another 2 scalps...brought home by Creighton and PC. Big 12 and ACC scalps. Lower tier F5 teams? Yeah, but hey it shuts up pundits. We have never argued that we have the top heavy teams the F5 conferences have, but top to bottom we are the best conference in America right now. In what appeared to be a rough year for the conference, PC is ranked, Butler is ranked, Nova is ranked, and Xavier is ranked...G'Town is picking up steam, Creighton is straightening out, and Marquette is starting to cash in on all the talent they have.

I think with SJ and DePaul being bad this year, it will help keep teams ranked. It's not the slopfest it was last year where anyone could beat anyone. This year, it's hard to see these 2 teams beating much of anyone in the conference.

Glad my Johnnies won, but man was that disgusting. Any halfway decent major conference team easily throttles Niagara by 20+ half asleep. They couldn't shoot, they were weak, they were slow, they were small, and they made tons of mistakes. But still, somehow we had to bite our nails until the last seconds. Right now we just don't have the horses. The good news is that LoVett will be cleared on the 18th. Would be a completely different team allowing Mussini to go off ball (his natural spot). LoVett penetrating, if he gets double teamed, kick out to Mussini. Mussini is the real deal...kid has a WET jumper. He will be freed up with LoVett playing. With him here, we will no doubt scare the crap out of some teams. Next year, with LoVett, Ponds, Ellison, Mussini, Yakwe, Sima, Owens, and Freudenberg (pure shooting german 6'8) in addition to Ahmed (current favorites), we will be upsetting top 25 teams. The year after that, tournament time.

Great call.

This was a real gutty win for the friars. Showed a lot of character.

Friar fans waiting for news on Bentil. Has been photographed in a walking boot and is getting x-Rays today.

Apparently Fazekas has mono so he might be out a while.

ouch. looking at the PC schedule early in conference play:
@ Butler
St John's
Marquette
@ Creighton
Seton Hall

Outside of Butler- a pretty easy schedule with 3 of the 5 bottom half team projected home game for PC in that period. So may take a loss or two extra that you wouldn't have counted on. Need to make hey with that part of the schedule because then.....
Butler
@ Nova
Xavier
@ Georgetown
@ DePauul
Villanova
@ Marqutte
Georgetown
@ Xavier
are the next 9 games.

Yeah, will be a huge blow and drastically change the season for the worse if he is out for an extended amount of time. Do not see an NCAA bid without him.

I'd be thrilled if we got him back by January 1. From a timing perspective, if he's out three weeks now is the perfect time. UMass game could be a slip up but they have some extended time off between games over the next few weeks which helps.

UMass shouldn't be a problem. UCF beat them this week.

Fazekas out indefinitely with Mono, still waiting to hear on Bentil. Dunn still sick as heck.

Luckily, PC's next few games are cupcakes but Bentil is a must have.
