I'm concerned about Kansas:
Last 3 seasons, since beating Duke, they're 2-9 vs any OOC team with a pulse.
One of those 2 teams was boring Utah. Big whoop.
The other was notoriously slow starting Michigan State. Zzzzzz.
They've been bounced in the 2nd round of the NCAA's the last 2 seasons.
THEY CAN'T HANDLE BASKETBALL OUTSIDE THE BIG-12...!!!
2016 season:
L vs Michigan State by 6.
2015 season:
L vs Kentucky by 32...!
W vs Michigan State by 5.
W vs Utah by 3.
L vs Temple by 25...! <--- a team Villanova beat by 23...!!!
L vs Wichita State by 13...!
2014 season:
W vs Duke in mid November.
L vs Villanova.
L vs Colorado.
L vs Florida.
L vs San Diego State.
L vs Stanford.
.
SHAME ON KANSAS...!!! FRAUDS...!!!

guess what though, we can have this same argument for just about every team not named duke or kentucky.

The ACC would take over MSG as it would have no interest in us. We could never command a television deal that would put us more than slightly above the A-10. We would never get the type of bids to the NCAA tourny like we did in the old conference. We would never be able to attract and retain high level coaches. Players would not want to come to a glorified "CYO" league.
Into our third year the Big East is not only alive, it is well. Very well. Our RPI is higher than most of the Football 5 conferences and was last season as well. We have averaged five bids a year in the NCAA - half our membership. In two years, Nova, G'Town, Providence, SJU, Creighton, X, and Butler have all received NCAA bids. Including pre-season rankings, Quette, SJU, Nova, Providence, Creighton, G'Town, Seton Hall, X and Butler have all been ranked over the last two seasons. Our TV dollars are almost THREE TIMES MORE than the basketball schools were getting in the old Big East. Our schools have more games on national television than any other league. We have done extremely well against the Football Five and have secured a long term series with the Big Ten. Our Garden lease runs through 2026. We are in our own conference - we control our own destiny. We are recruiting top players from across the country as well as our own backyards. There is no question this league is a good thing for all of us and for college basketball. It's all good from where I sit.

redmen9194 wrote:The answer is absolutely yes -we are an elite league already. 90% of our members have held a spot in the top 25 over the last two seasons. 70% of pour members have gone to the NCAA tourny over the last two seasons. We have had a number 1 seed in the NCAA in just year 2. Now I know that we have to do better in the NCAA but that will come. The tourny is all match-ups and the Old Big East had early exit years as well. Is Villanova an elite team? Maybe or maybe not. But the term elite denotes a very few schools and is subject to debate. IS Syracuse an elite team? I don't think so, but others may disagree. Duke, UNC, Kansas and Kentucky are probably the only ones you can call eilte. But who cares whether a team is elite or just really good consistently? There is no doubt he Big East is an elite conference for sure and that will benefit everyone from top to bottom.
