I'm concerned about Kansas:

Last 3 seasons, since beating Duke, they're 2-9 vs any OOC team with a pulse.
One of those 2 teams was boring Utah. Big whoop.
The other was notoriously slow starting Michigan State. Zzzzzz.
They've been bounced in the 2nd round of the NCAA's the last 2 seasons.

THEY CAN'T HANDLE BASKETBALL OUTSIDE THE BIG-12...!!!

2016 season:
L vs Michigan State by 6.

2015 season:
L vs Kentucky by 32...!
W vs Michigan State by 5.
W vs Utah by 3.
L vs Temple by 25...! <--- a team Villanova beat by 23...!!!
L vs Wichita State by 13...!

2014 season:
W vs Duke in mid November.
L vs Villanova.
L vs Colorado.
L vs Florida.
L vs San Diego State.
L vs Stanford.
.
SHAME ON KANSAS...!!! FRAUDS...!!!
.

Kansas vs RPI top 50
this year 1-1 (they beat Vanderbilt)
last year 3-3 (they beat Michigan St, Georgetown, and Utah)
2014 3-5 (they beat Duke, New Mexico, Toledo)
so they are 7-9 vs RPI top 50 last 3 years.

part of the issue with Nova is how few top 50 games they've played last 3 years OOC. 8 games to include 2 tourney games. So only 7 games scheduled in 3 years. That may have gotten it done years ago, but it's not how things are done now.

Stever has his trolling vessel out of dry dock, I see. After getting his ass spanked in the truth about the BE thread you'd think he would take a little bit of a break. This isn't even really about Nova, it's a chance to run down the BE. Because Nova has been the top dog for the last 2 years, by discrediting them he discredits the entire league. He mentions that Xavier wouldn't take a shot like this from no talent hack boy because their ooc is better, without mentioning that X hasn't yet beat Nova. So if Nova isn't elite than either is Xavier and by extension the entire BE. I can see stever sitting giddy at his keyboard over this. You know this line of trolling sounds familiar, ... oh yeah, it's the same the sky is falling for Nova act that he broke out last year after the Hoyas smacked Nova by 20 last year. How the rest of that season work out stever? What's that 15 wins in a row, you do say?, do tell. Again love the over reaction based off the result of one game 5,000 miles away in paradise played in a inadequate little arena.

Que stever with the early March exit and the BE was/is overrated rebuttal. Feel free to have the last word stever, because you know you have to, that's how trolls roll. You're the most annoying type of troll, the disingenuous coward troll. Afraid to show your true allegiance while pretending to be a fan of someone else and playing the expectations manager, or devil's advocate roll. What a sad boring life you must lead.

so let's understand what we're debating here. we're debating whether or not nova is elite? I think that's open for discussion and I can see both sides of the argument. nothing wrong with that.

guess what though, we can have this same argument for just about every team not named duke or kentucky.

Very true, but someone is only interested in putting Nova and by extension the BE on the microscope. You could very easily turn this around and use some equally valid criteria to discredit AAC, A-10, SEC, Pac-12, etc if one had the inclination and time . Funny how he doesn't make any threads about those leagues on here or post on those forums these type of smear tacit threads.

Anyone who wants to put us under the microscope - be my guest. When the original 7 broke away we were killed by the media. We could never survive without football. The ACC would take over MSG as it would have no interest in us. We could never command a television deal that would put us more than slightly above the A-10. We would never get the type of bids to the NCAA tourny like we did in the old conference. We would never be able to attract and retain high level coaches. Players would not want to come to a glorified "CYO" league.

Into our third year the Big East is not only alive, it is well. Very well. Our RPI is higher than most of the Football 5 conferences and was last season as well. We have averaged five bids a year in the NCAA - half our membership. In two years, Nova, G'Town, Providence, SJU, Creighton, X, and Butler have all received NCAA bids. Including pre-season rankings, Quette, SJU, Nova, Providence, Creighton, G'Town, Seton Hall, X and Butler have all been ranked over the last two seasons. Our TV dollars are almost THREE TIMES MORE than the basketball schools were getting in the old Big East. Our schools have more games on national television than any other league. We have done extremely well against the Football Five and have secured a long term series with the Big Ten. Our Garden lease runs through 2026. We are in our own conference - we control our own destiny. We are recruiting top players from across the country as well as our own backyards. There is no question this league is a good thing for all of us and for college basketball. It's all good from where I sit.

I think the question becomes can you be an elite league w/o an elite team. I feel the answer to that question is yes.

So what teams the past 2+ years are elite stever? And what is that definition? Please show your homework if you don't mind.

The answer is absolutely yes -we are an elite league already. 90% of our members have held a spot in the top 25 over the last two seasons. 70% of pour members have gone to the NCAA tourny over the last two seasons. We have had a number 1 seed in the NCAA in just year 2. Now I know that we have to do better in the NCAA but that will come. The tourny is all match-ups and the Old Big East had early exit years as well. Is Villanova an elite team? Maybe or maybe not. But the term elite denotes a very few schools and is subject to debate. IS Syracuse an elite team? I don't think so, but others may disagree. Duke, UNC, Kansas and Kentucky are probably the only ones you can call eilte. But who cares whether a team is elite or just really good consistently? There is no doubt he Big East is an elite conference for sure and that will benefit everyone from top to bottom.

yeah, I don't think I would even call Syracuse an elite team at all last few years. Even Kansas IMO is right on the fringe(largely due to their NCAA foibles the last few years- and the fact that they're only 7-9 OOC last 3 years vs top 50). Like I said, I feel like you can be an elite conference w/o having an elite team.
