I just looked at this. Guess which conference SOS is #1? Independents with 1 team...NJIT. It is currently ranked 3rd behind the BE and Big 12.

NJIT isn't independent. The site isn't accurate. It takes the average of all 10 RPI or SOS, instead of compiling everyone together like pretty much every other site does.

I thought NJIT joined a conference?

Well we know this, realtime, yahoo and cbs all use the RPI formula that the NCAA uses. Right now the BE looks great under the correct formula which is why you certainly don't use it.

Realtime is taking the average of the 10 teams RPI. That's not how you do it. You take the 10 teams numbers together(like they were 1 team) and compute off of that. When the site still has NJIT as indy- that tells you all you need to know about the site.

Right now BE is #2.

True, I wasnt referring to conference rankings but team rankings, which you refused to use for instance in your envisioned AAC vs. BE challenge.

The team rankings I used were from Ken Pom yesterday.

this week was huge. Getting the wins by Butler and Georgetown just big. Also PC made a pretty good KP jump from 46 to 42 beating RI(they only had a 33% chance in KP of winning). And I'll say this. DePaul impressed me today in the few minutes that I saw. They had started sluggish but they had an intensity about them that I havent' seen in years. turn around and win by 24. Next Saturday a game that is huge for them- they play Arkansas Little Rock. You say wow- it's UALR. Well, they are 5-0 and currently #13 in RPI(I know still early).

What I was saying before was that the start was nice- but that a lot of the OOC work still had to get done. This week IMO was WAY more impressive than the first 2. If only PC could have gotten MSU!

How weird to have a team that's ineligible for the postseason be your #1. Craziness.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
