The only "truth" to that thread is that stever20 is a TROLL and needs to be banned, blocked, batted away like his flyers will forever be from the Big East Conference thanks to his passive aggressive haunting of this board.

First of all, I am fairly certain Stever isn't a Dayton fan. Secondly, you can't be so sensitive about posters who take a different perspective than you. The conference is doing well, we all know that. If Stever doesn't share most peoples enthusism so what? He brings a lot of interesting statistical information, and does some time consuming digging to get it. To me, trolling is when people try to kick you when you're down and make you feel worse. For the most part our teams are doing just fine. I find most of the UD posters interesting, and respectful for the most part, save one or two. And Stever is also complimentary at times. Lighten up, it's just a message board for people discussing sports, not Nazi Germany.

I've been to several sites, and where whiteandblue77 dug up this info is by far the worst site. NJIT is still listed as an Independent. Also, the way they do their conference RPI is not the way it's calculated. They lazily calculate it based off of the average of all 10 teams RPI's. Sorry but that's not how you calculate conference RPI. Now, there was a time tonight where the Big East WAS #1 in the real conference RPI. But then the Grambling RPI bomb hit with Marquette, and that was that. BE still #2, even after the Creighton home loss tonight.

I would never support someone like Stever being banned but I am 100% in support of him being called on the carpet With each not-so-subtle jab against the BE, in his blatant attempt to troll. And hoops for all his "expert data digging" he pulls crap like saying that "the BE is not elite like the other top conferences b/c of their sub .500 record vs top 25 teams" without showing that their winning % in such games is actually as good or better than every other conf in the nation. Additionally he tries to claim that he is not biased when comparing the BE and the AAC, yet does not disclose that he is a moderator of an AAC message board. Weak. At least Dayton fans come on here wearing no masks.

So until he admits to the true motivation behind his posts, I will continue to call him out when he plays his little games and encourage others to do likewise. I don't mind hearing the opinions of non-BE fans but at least be man enough to admit who you are and who you support when you post.

Every once in a while I like Stever's posts but the majority of the time they just seem disingenuous because he refers as himself as a Big East fan. As we've seen with some of the Dayton and VCU posters over the years, it's okay to be a fan of a non BE team and post here as long as you are respectful. In fact I think a lot of those guys are pretty well liked.
