Any National Player of the Year list based on performances through the first two weeks of this season must have either Denzel Valentine or Kris Dunn at the top.

Both have been fantastic.

And they'll play against each other Sunday.

That's the byproduct of Michigan State and Providence each winning Friday to advance to the title game of the Wooden Legacy in California, and, man, it really should be great. And by great I mean the type of thing that's worth being tired for come Monday morning.

Tip-off Sunday is schedued for 10 p.m. ET.

So, yeah, you East Coasters will be tired Monday morning.

But, again, it'll be worth it because it's not everyday -- or even every month -- that two legitimate POY candidates meet. And will anybody be surprised if both get triple-doubles?

BEST GAME OF THE WEEKEND: It's not even debatable. It's No. 3 Michigan State vs. Providence highlighted by that Valentine-Dunn matchup. Valentine is averaging 20.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists for the undefeated Spartans. Dunn is averaging 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists for the undefeated Friars. May the best guard win.

NEXT BEST GAME OF THE WEEKEND: I'm starting to think Dayton coach Archie Miller might be a wizard of some sort considering the way he continues to win regardless of the circumstances. He lost multiple key pieces last season, played some of the year with just six scholarship players, and still won 27 games and made the NCAA Tournament. Now Miller is operating without his leading returning scorer, Dyshawn Pierre, and yet the 37-year-old North Carolina State graduate has the Flyers sitting at 5-0 heading into Sunday's game with No. 23 Xavier that'll decide the Advocare Invitational championship.
