Villanova shot about 20% from 3 on 34 3 point attempts and were outrebounded by 20 (35 to 55). This was a very ugly win to say the least and the way we played today is the reason we have had some early exits. You live by the 3, you die by it. I don't even mind that we took that many 3s, it was just the majority of those shots were just a guy pulling up with a hand in his face, you need to make a few passes and find an open shooter on the perimeter.

This has been going on for a LONG time in Jay Wright's offense. We can go stretches of several minutes of just launching 3s before we run something that resembles a play.

Villanova looks a lot better when they mix it up, drive, pass the ball, get it inside, kick it out, etc. but the lazy passing around the perimeter and then launching a 3 with a hand in your face is going to continue to hurt us.

If we played a legit team today we would have lost by 15.

Hoping tomorrow Villanova resembles the #8 team in the country because today they did not.

Xavier looks like they're really going to get screwed out of some better games. Instead of being in with Wichita St and then either Notre Dame or Iowa, they're looking at USC and then either Monmouth or Dayton.

I really think you're going to start to see tournaments going more and more to what the NIT and some of the others have with guaranteed semi matchups with 4 stronger teams. So take Advocare. Xavier would have played 2 easier games prior to today, and then today would have played Wichita St. Then tomorrow played the winner of Iowa/Notre Dame.

That was a nice win for Providence. Evansville is better than that.

Nice day for the Big East. Evansville has talent and they're going to have a really good year. Balentine is excellent. Very solid win for the Friars.

Now, hopefully we get the matchup with Arizona. Great job by X and VU today too.

Also, a tip of the hat to both teams with good sportsmanship and mutual respect throughout. No cheap shots. At the end of the game the Friars and Purple Aces were handing out hugs and slaps on the back.

It took overtime for Arizona to beat 0-5 Santa Clara.

Have to admit - XU vs Dayton in the finals would be pretty juicy.

It would definitely be Dayton's biggest game of the year.
