That would be a great win.

Friars should handle Evansville. Let's not make them out to be more than they are. Not a total cupcake, but a team they should handle (similar to Akron).

It's in a tournament.

Evansville is #65 in Ken Pom. They beat Belmont by 5. They're projected #3 in the MVC.

Evansville is considered to be on the same level as Northern Iowa and right there with Wichita State this year, they are undefeated so far with a win over Belmont, PC should win but hardly even close to a cupcake.

Cbs has Evansville ranked 102 in their preseason rankings.

Providence should be able to handle them.

They will certainly have to to get the game we need, if they caan get past them, they get Arizona then a possible matchup with Michigan State. Could be a good weekend.

Butler - best win against Temple, but looked vulnerable against Miami (which is a legit Final Four contender)
Villanova - best win is Akron (?) or E. TN State(?) Play someone before you claim the top spot.
Providence - best win against Illinois, (who hasn't looked good in subsequent games).
Georgetown - stubbed toe against Radford, but has played tough v Maryland, Wisconsin, and Duke. Hard to put a 1 win team in top half of league, but Hoya's have played the toughest BE schedule to date.
St. Johns - interchangeable with SH, with Rutgers only notable win. Beat Vandy today and then we will talk!
Seton Hall - best win against Mississippi(?). Interchangeable on this list with St. Johns.
Creighton - unprepared for what they encountered at Bloomington.
Marquette - Wojo can do better than what team has shown to date.
DePaul - no comments needed.

Not sure how you can put either Butler or X ahead of Nova unless A). Nova loses or B). Either beats a team ranked higher than Nova. And it's not like Nova has struggled at all. They've been dominant.

Also just an FYI Nova is 9-0 vs Butler and X since the nBE was formed. I'm of the belief that to be the Top Dog you need to beat the Top Dog yourself. We'll see if they can do it this year.

Yep. Flagship status is Flagship status until another program proves otherwise, and Xavier intends at some point to prove otherwise at Nova's expense. I love that Xavier is in a conference with Nova, but I'm damn tired of losing to the Wildcats this much:

1. Villanova - hitting and rolling on all cylinders.

2. Xavier - simple enough: assuming steady development from players like Bluiett and Macura, if Reynolds settles in and Sumner gets comfortable at the 1, then watch out.

3. Butler - Butler is Butler; no worries after last night.

4. Georgetown - they actually scare me to death; 2 pt. loss to Duke last night and took Maryland to the wall in College Park. The stubbed toe will heal and off they'll go.

5. Providence - refreshing to know that Chris has some solid colleagues around him, and EC can coach them up.

6. & 7. - The New York area schools, and may they both make great strides this year.

8. Creighton - the Bluejays will be fine long-term.

9. Marquette - I don't get it. I hope Wojo can coach, because he certainly can recruit.

10. DePaul - amend the Big East Conference Agreement to invoke financial penalties due to a lack of sustained performance. Take actions that cause the President of the university to fire the idiot AD so that new blood can move into the role to take advantage of the new facility. DePaul is truly pissing away a timing opportunity for blasting its way back into the positive side of the conversation. The Big East Presidents should want to move in that direction. Being good in Chicago beats being bad in Chicago for media purposes. The A10 had this problem forever with Fordham. Screw the collegial nature of the relationships. DePaul is in a very, very good thing here, and not contributing to it AT ALL.

Respectfully disagree. My rankings are what you have done this year. To date, X and Butler have played tougher competition and have earned higher status. Once Villanova plays a decent team, then we can talk again. If you want domination, look at the Dawg's 144 - 71 beat down of the Citadel. But I'm not giving that game much import due to, well, the Citadel.

But I'm open for arguments otherwise. What has Villanova done this season to date that puts them on top of the league today?

So Butler losing a game puts them ahead of Nova? OK then.

Have you watched Nova play this year? They have completely destroyed the teams they've played. FDU = bad. Like Citadel bad. I get that. But Akron beat Arkansas and ETSU beat Ga Tech so they aren't complete slop. Akron is probably on the level of Temple. Butler barely beat Temple; Nova destroyed Akron.

Lastly Nova is coming off 2 straight 16-2 conf seasons, and is 9-0 since conference inception vs the 2 teams you have in front of them. And they've pretty much replaced what they've lost. I guess that does not matter much in your ranking but it should. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I feel good about our chances to three-peat. We'll see if BU or X are up to the challenge.

Well I am happy you agree that X should be on top today. Yes, I have watched Villanova play mid-majors. As I said, win a game against a power opponent and we can talk again.

Last year is last year. Do UCLA, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina get elevated rankings because of their NCAA Titles? Nope. My list is based on November, 2015 games.
