Depends on who else they beat, if they drop LSU and Belmont that still leaves wins over Iowa, @Wisconsin, ASU/NC State. I do see your point though that losing to Belmont gives them little leeway against power conference teams.

That said I expect this team to actually beat LSU.

Xavier only leads the longtime series over Miami U 53-47...but have been pretty dominant since 1990. The Redhawks not being what they once were, expecting a relatively easy W.

Go X

in 2015 Xavier made its fifth NCAA Sweet 16 appearance since 2008; only nine schools have been to at least five in the last
eight years.

Funny thing with MU's non-conference schedule. It's front loaded. 4 of the 5 games to start the year are against Belmont, Iowa, LSU and NC State or Arizona State.

Big time crew calling Wagner vs. SJU: Kenny Albert and Bill Raftery. Is Wagner suppose to be good this year?

Blue Ribbon picked them to finish 7th in their conference (Northeast Conference). It's the conference with Robert Morris, LIU-Brooklyn, etc (typically 16 seeds).

So no. They aren't expected to be good. Maybe Fox really wants to show commitment to SJU.

Mullin's first game coaching is by far the biggest storyline on Friday.

Same thing with Providence; Harvard, Illinois, Evansville, Arizona, maybe Michigan State, and throw a NJIT team in the middle of that, that beat Michigan last year and returns all starters from a 21 win team.

Creighton folks could help me out but I think Evansville is expected to give Wichita State a run at it this year.

Yeah, supposedly Evansville, Northern Iowa and Illinois State are suppose to be upper echelon of the MVC this year along with Wichita.
