It will be Notre Dame vs. Monmouth, Dayton-Iowa, Xavier-Alabama, and Wichita State-USC on Nov. 26, multiple sources said.

Second-round matchups are Nov. 27 and the championship game is Nov. 29. The winner of Notre Dame-Monmouth will take on the winner of Dayton-Iowa. Xavier-Alabama will face the winner of Wichita State-USC.

Really hoping to get Wichita St. so Xavier can put that overrated program in its place.

Very important first game quite frankly. Win and you see Wichita and then one of Notre Dame, Dayton, Iowa. Lose and you see USC, and then one of Dayton, Iowa, or Monmouth. Huge for SOS implications.

Great tourney. Alabama could be a tough out under
Mr. Johnson's new direction - they have some talent.

As for WSU, they generally play to the level of their competition. Promises to be
a great game, if both play to their potentials.

I tend to agree that the Bama game is huge for an early season game. Anyone have some decent insight as to how good of a squad they will field this year? Thanks.

Wikipedia has all of the relevant facts, but no opinion:

2015–16 Alabama Crimson Tide - Men's Basketball Team

Big roster turnover.

2014-15 Alabama Crimson Tide - RPI Breakdown

RPI # 85 Alabama's best win was at home over RPI # 48 UCLA 56-50. Their best neutral-court win was over RPI # 102 Arizona State 76-71.

Xavier should be a significant favorite over the Crimson Tide in an early-season game.

I'm not too worried about Alabama, they are a team from the SEC. Xavier is 21 - 6 against the SEC the last 7 years. Those numbers are completely made up but it sure seems that way at least.

Just looking, last 5 years Xavier is 7-4 vs the SEC. Last 10 years, 12-8.

Played them the last 2 years- beat them at Alabama 2 years ago by 3, and beat them at home this year by 13.

Bad thing for X is it's the exempt tournament. 4-8 in the last 4 years in those- including 1-5 last 2 years.

This thread got completely derailed in an XU-UD, UD vs Big east pissing match... so I have eliminated the BS and left discussion about the actual event.

Well done.

And about the game times, i really do like the morning games for Xavier. We have a young roster and new point guards so I think playing at time with little fanfare will bode well for them. Expecting to win Alabama, lost to Wich St. Then who knows. Hope to go 2-1.
