Ahead of Seton Hall and DePaul maybe one other team, but still bottom half of the conference.

HA. This is funny. The Big East is having a weak year. Dayton is/will have a strong year (and is showing it through their play). They are better than the two teams that left the A10 last year and will likely compete for the A10 title this year. This is not the same Dayton team from the past 10 years. Completely new guys with a completely new offensive style that would run circles around team without their depth and guard play.

A better question is where will they finish in a watered down A10?

In a watered down A10?

Do you have a pulse?

The A10 is getting it done, yes watered down at the lower tier but it's a conference going to be decided/competed at the upper tier. 3 or 4 very exciting athletic teams and a couple of plodders as well to make some home advantage games interesting!

Here is what matters: The Big East has lost ground to the "Power Conferences" and now resides with the Mountain West, West Coast and Missouri Valley.

Teams in the AP Top 25
Big Ten 5
Big 12 4
Pac 12 3
AAC 3
ACC 2
SEC 2
A-10 2
MVC 1
BigEast 1
WCC 1
MWC 1

Will it pick up: it better and I expect it will. But when we downgrade other programs or conferences, let's first look in the mirror.

I don't think the A10 is necessarily watered down, but I'd be surprised if they got more than 2-3 teams in this year. I'd go with VCU, UMass, and Slu. Maybe Dayton if they can actually string together a complete season, which I'm not quite convinced of just yet

The thing about the A10 is their rpi is good enough that it can support 4 teams really easily. They're #5 right now- ahead of the AAC, ACC, and SEC. They have 5 top 50 RPI teams right now. Also, with 13 teams, they can and do gerrymander their schedule so the stronger teams avoid the rpi killers a 2nd time. It would be a major shock if they only got 2 teams.

Well, I just saw who gave Xavier their 1 vote in the AP poll. Gary Williams. Yes, that Gary Williams, former Ohio State and Maryland head coach.

Bottom line right now is that the top of the A-10 is ahead of the top of the BE, while the bottom of the BE is ahead of the bottom of the A-10. The problem with that is that the bottom feeders aren't getting in the tourney. The BE teams, particularly the top rung, must get some signature wins in the OOC.

I disagree. How about Georgetown over VCU? Big East owns the A10 so far.

I don't think you understand. The A-10, right now, has 5 teams in the RPI top 50. Those are just facts. Their top 5 are ahead of the BE top 5. I could also point out that one of the perceived lower rung A-10 schools, GW, just beat Creighton. Like the man said, you can have your own opinion, but not your own facts.

Use a meaningless RPI all you want because it's meaningless right now. I feel pretty confident Marquette and Georgetown will end up with RPIs about 50 spots better than they are now. Head to head in actual basketball games, the Big East has owned the A10.
