The Big East is no different then it was 3 or 4 days ago, or for that matter 3 or 4 weeks ago. It seemed half this board was ready to crown Creighton last night, now Nova is the favor of the day. Relax Creighton is still really damn good, Butler isn't missing Stevens it seems, Providence is a definite tourney team, Marquette and Georgetown are Marquette and Georgetown they are more than fine. Xavier is very dangerous and lurking, and St. John's is still ridiculously talented.

I still think 6 teams are making the tourney out of this league, that's why everyone is bitching about being predicted to finish anything lower than 3rd. This league is that good, one win or loss in November isn't changing much. Now if someone goes into a prolonged funk that's different. As much as I like to give some people a hard time, there isn't a program in this league that isn't capable of being a threat to make the 2nd weekend of the dance.

With all the losses we've picked up OOC even already- and with some of the tougher OOC games to come even- it's going to be hard for a 6th place team to get into the tourney. I just don't know if a 9-9 team makes the tourney. That's why the OOC matters so much- pretty much for some teams to have any shot making it if they go 9-9- they can't lose the rest of OOC. 8-10 I just don't see getting in.

And 3-11 in RPI top 50- that's a real number. Good leagues don't do that. And- really only 1 of Seton Hall's losses are one's that are in top 50 now that won't be later. The other 10 are ones that should stick. And 1 of our wins won't be- Seton Hall over Kent St.

Just for funsies were do you get those numbers?

Agree with W36. Lots of hoops to play yet. I absolutely think this is at least a 5, maybe 6, bid league. I mean c'mon, if the tourney were tomorrow VU, XU, G'twn, Marq, Prov. and CU would all be in. Butler would be on the bubble. Relax folks.

Couldn't be happier for my Cats though. They deserved that win. I thought they really took it to KU tonight and considering our only big man played 12 minutes because of foul trouble, I am very proud of the effort. Great stat I saw tonight. Nova is 4-1 in their last 5 games vs. Top 5 teams. Oooh-rah!

Well to be fair maybe I said 6 teams because of my beer buzz and the fact that we just beat Kansas, I might be in a slightly charitable mood.

Actually I'm reading the Kansas PBP thread on their board right now. Great stuff, apparently we suck, and the only reason were winning(won) is because the refs sucks more than we do.

You and me both... Was drinking a couple Big Black Voodoo Daddy's throughout the game to calm my nerves and by the end I was screaming one second, pounding it down the next. My wife kept asking me why I was yelling at the TV at the top of my lungs. Great night! Jay is the man.

Was actually at a bar trying to have a conversation with someone and not really paying attention to him at all and nodding every like twice a minute while watching the game over his shoulder. Had to come home for the last 12 minutes.

Came back from the Creighton game, definitely a tough loss, SDSU shot very well and we just dug ourselves too big of a hole. Credit to the guys for battling back down 19 in the second half to make it a game in what practically was a road game. Congrats to Nova on the huge win and salvaging what was a bad day for the conference.

Right now actually 3-12 vs top 50(So Miss was 51 earlier, now 40).

If the tourney were tomorrow- Georgetown would not be in. Marquette and Xavier would be on the bubble quite frankly. Nova, Providence, Creighton would be in for sure.

Also you have to remember with the bids- the conference season has to play out. The 6th place team will have 9-10 losses. 5th will have 9 probably. Heck 4th could be 10-8(what Ken Pom has projected for instance). The 4th/5th BET game loser could be 9-10 in conference play. Add to that a 10-3 OOC record, and you have 19-13. That's VERY iffy most years, and I think this year with a new major conference, it's very unlikely to get in. I think it's going to take a lot of teams 21-22 wins to get into the tourney.

Refs hate us. Name one team in the conference they hate more.

As a side note…if any Johnnies fans here are on Redmen.com can you please laugh at them for me? We are about to be down by 20 to PSU

lmfao I bet you`re Joe3, am I right? You complain and act like him.
