Are you really generalizing one or two posters to an entire fanbase? And when other members of that fanbase are clearly disagreeing with that small minority?

MU's defense is probably one of the best in the league... MU's offense is terrible. Unless Mayo or Wilson start killin it then we'll finish 3rd in the conference and either lose in the round of 64 or 32. This team reminds me of Georgetown's team last year with stellar D and major scoring issues.

I'm a Xavier fan so obviously I have a bias towards the Muskies. But I don't see the point in arguing about who had it tougher in the past. What matters right now is winning games NOW the reputation of the new Big East will be formed in the next couple of years. Obviously the new Big East is much better than the A-10! Besides adding teams like Villanova, Georgetown and Marquette, we don't have Fordham. Trust me not even the second string of the worst team in the history of Big East would lose to Fordham. We need to come together as a conference and not think of ourselves as the C7 or the new3 but as the Big East 10.

Now for my knee jerk reaction to X this far. Before the season started I could have seen them finish anywhere from 4-10. I like what I've seen so far and believe they can finish any where from 3-8. We will know a lot more about of this team after the Battle for Atlantis.

P.S. To the Villanova fans, I will be rooting hard for Nova in the Battle for Atlantis tourney, until (hopefully) the meet X in the Finals!

The more I read this board I'm not even sure the divide is C7 and new 3 so much as the five original schools, the CUSA transfers, and the new three schools.

I don't get what the big issue is with Xavier…I remember they played as well as any major conference team not too long ago. Didn't they make something like 12 or 15 straight NCAA appearances? And they didn't just make the tourney, they always seemed to go far. Welcome addition to the Big East IMO.

I'm not sure what the "big issue is with Xavier" either.

Just a little bit of history and perspective. Many of us are heavily outnumbered at work and in our neighborhoods by UC fans. For years we had to defend the A-10 and listen to how tough the Big East was and how crappy the A-10 was. As a result, many of us, myself included, rooted against the Big East. Old habits die hard for some, but most normal Xavier fans are thrilled to death about being in the Big East a are now cheering loudly and enthusiastically for our Big East brethren.

Also, although I enjoy Dumpster Fire's posts, I don't consider the A-10 to be a crappy league, particularly at the top.
