Doesn't really matter whether we watch or not unless you are one of the 0.1% of people with Nielsen boxes. I'm not sure how you get one, but I've never really believed that system is that accurate. If you have a Nielsen box, you will know it. They have to come to your house and get your permission to install it.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

When BE play starts then that all changes

Not me. I am curious to see what this new league is going to look like. I want to see Butler & X and Creighton as much as I can so I can get a feel for their programs. Maybe I am in the minority but I would much rather watch Creighton-St. Joe's this year than a say: Duke vs. UCLA on ESPN. I can't remember the last time I was this excited to get a season going. Gonna be a really fun year on FS1.

A lot of the top OOC games though are on ESPN instead of FS1. All the exempt tournaments and some of the better games. Heck, best game of the 1st day is on Big Ten Network St Johns/Wisconsin.

I totally agree with Gumby of Villanova. Absolutely 100% of the time I will want to watch a Big East team if their game is on. No doubt about it.

+1001 :D

I wasn't "around" for the 1979 launch of the BE/ESPN partnership, so this is my chance to get in on the ground floor of the next best thing, BE 2.0/FS1 & I can't wait!

But the St. John's / Syracuse game from the Garden will be on Fox Sports 1 with Raft and Gus.

It may not count for ratings, but with digital boxes they have the data for what channels you watched, when, etc. Did you pause, flip during commercials, where do programs fall in your DVR priority, etc. They can also identify if your box is on with the TV off if you have it hooked up with HDMI. It's no coincidence the emails and mailings you'll get from your cable company or satellite provider seem "to know you" and are aimed at your interests.

Because of this I'm pretty sure the Nielsen boxes are no longer mandatory for Nielsen households. The one person I know who was a Nielsen household didn't have a Nielsen box.

Agreed! If a Big East team is playing I want to watch. I really don't care what the others are doing at that point, I want to support our teams and see what sort of competition we will be facing.

OK, that's one game..

Like 1st night of the season is a great example...
Providence/BC- FS1
Wisconsin/St Johns- Big Ten Network
Georgetown/Oregon- ESPN

Then all of the exempt tournaments are on ESPN or other non FS1 places.

Probably of the top 20-30 OOC games, FS1 gets less than 10 this year.
