Marquette Media day/Marquette Madness

Postby MUSeashells&Balloons » Fri Oct 11, 2013 2:12 pm

Thought I would throw up some Marquette updates since a lot will be coming out today.

Heres some quotes so far Ill try to keep this post up to date as much as i can and try to limit it to highlights:

Buzz: From a commitment standpoint in New Big East, it's "paramount" their basketball teams are successful.
Buzz: Todd is at 85-88 percent healthy. No individuals over the summer; back participating.
Buzz: In our society, I think that success inherently makes you soft. You can't forget the formula, but you have to forget the ring
Buzz: The best coaches are the ones who have withstood the test of time. The best players are ones who have withstood the test of time.
Buzz: Can I have my water. I dont think that microphone works.(no) So why are you holding it?
Buzz says he's starting to trust Derrick more each day, which he says is the most important aspect to him.
Buzz: In September players were worried, "If I talk [lead] is anyone going to listen?" Jamil, Ox, Derrick figuring it out.
Buzz: We have three or four guys who are emerging (as leaders) and I think that is why October has been a really good month for us.
Classic Buzz: I coach those guys every day like we're in last place. I wake up every morning like we're in last place
Buzz on positive Boot Camp impressions: Freshman Jajuan Johnson shows up every day to answer the bell. My kid of guy. "Hands down. Easily. Number 1."
Buzz on Recruiting: "We want OKG's. Our Kind of Guys." We don't ever look for 5* or 4* that stuff drives me crazy we look for the right people that's the formula that has always worked for us.

Davante: my personal goal is to help the young guys and improve my rebounding
Steve & Davante: We have to main coaches Buzz are Basketball coach and Todd are weights coach they pretty much both work us tell there is nothing left.
Jameel: Boot Camp is the way this team is formed. Its the hardest thing I've ever done but Im glad its over. Now that its over I feel untouchable.
Deonte: Boot camp is the worst thing I ever went through. But the best I got a lot out of it. But I still wake up with cold sweats.
All 4 newbies picked the Dark blue as their favorite jersey. Derrick picked the white.

From Paint Touches: "Spoke to about 10 players and coaches. Unanimously said Jajuan Johnson has impressed the most. One player: "could be our best guard.""
"Davante Gardner is down to a good 283 pounds. Want to play extended spurts, play to 17-feet on offense. Big East, watch out. #mubb"

Coach Al Mcguire:
"I like seashells and balloons, ribbons and medals, bare feet and wet grass."
"When I'm losing, they call me nuts. When I'm winning, they call me eccentric."
"Queen of victory, pray for us."

List of recruits who will be present.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Just found out that at madness both Davante and Jake Thomas will be attempting to set the most three point shots in 1 minute record. Jake is heavily favored and hopefully will be able to do it. Butler fans will recall Jake Thomas crazy 3 point shot in maui that looked to seal the game before the most amazing shot i've maybe ever seen happened.

That guy!

I can only hope that the games this year are half as good as the two last season.

Hey thought I would upload this picture I took at Madness of the Big East banners so you can all be sure your schools names are proudly represented here.

Yeah sorry about that I actually reduced the size as much as I could.
