Akok becomes the 3rd BE to BE transfer. I don't think we're done yet.

Butler would be on this list if it wasn't for a graduate transfer. (Golden)

Transfer rankings for incoming vs. outgoing is comically lopsided for the BE. Not sure how other power conferences stack up, but it doesn't look like the NIL is hurting this conference.

Manny Bates (#28 on ESPN) will make his destination known tomorrow afternoon.

That would be big for Butler, but does that make Jalen Thomas a backup?

I would think Bates starts, with Thomas getting good minutes off the bench. I don't think PT ends up being an issue, as there are no other centers on the roster.

BE currently with 4 teams in the 24/7 transfer portal rankings. PC at #2, CU at #4, St Johns at #6 and Georgetown at #10. UCONN also checks in at #19. As people have said, we are getting a lot of quality players and haven't had that many transfers leave. Butler now up to #23 with the addition of Bates

players are flocking to the BE due to the influx of all these damn 'name brand' coaches. :o
It's a great Problem to have as a conference. Roll Big East Roll.

Interestingly it looks like Nova will be one of the only programs not to take a transfer from the portal again this year. Is that indicative of the culture they've established--where young players develop and patiently wait their turn before getting a chance to play--or a program resistant to change and take advantage of this brave new world of free agency.

Either way I expect many to pencil the Omahanians in as the standard bearers for the conference next year. We'll see...
