Both Saturday/Sunday have ton of upset potential though. Outside of Creighton/Kansas just because of the Kalk injury- all the other 1/2/3 seeds have very dangerous games. I mean
Baylor/North Carolina
Tennessee/Michigan
Gonzaga/Memphis
Villanova/Ohio St
Duke/Mich St
Wisconsin/Iowa St
Texas Tech/Notre Dame
Auburn/Miami
Purdue/Texas
Arizona/TCU

it seems safe that at least a few of those will wind up as upsets. Very few easy games there at all.

UNC looked like it was an older brother playing against a younger one. And SHU didn’t look like it could score on a HS JV team last night. We need to do better; bottom line. If we can get 2/3 into the S16 then it’s a success. Without Kalk CU’s going to have to pull a rabbit. PC got a break (lol, where have we heard that before), but still have to win the game. VU vs a physical P6 team getting healthy with a coach that knows us well and has had success head-to head vs Jay, worries me.

I agree we need to have 2 or more teams in the second weekend more often than not. Providence did get a break, but so did a number of ACC and B10 teams. Overall, I think the talent level in the BE was pretty down this year, but we almost managed to get 7 teams in the tourney because the bottom was historically bad, and we overachieved ooc. I said this in another thread, but as a conference we're not doing a good job developing great players.

There won't be any shocking upsets on Sunday. Zona or Tech losing would be surprising, but it feels more like run of the mill upset to me.

Some call it Magic, others Synchronicity, or the Luck o' the Irish. It's St Patty's Weekend and Men's Day in
Latin America. A fortuitous amalgamation of events on the global Wheel of Fortune. A great day for the
Big East; and another great day to be a Jay!

Lil Creighton is at the confluence of being "in the right place, at the right time". Luck O' the Irish, indeed!
KU has a nasty habit of losing focus and losing early in the Dance. Today is no exception. Shades of 'Wragge'
show up as the Jays do a repeat of the BET semi's and beat heavily-favored and seeded Kansas.

UNC looks good. Glad Creighton didn’t draw them in the opener. Maybe today is a day for #1 seeds to lose.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

If Kalk had been there it would have been very possible I think.

I thought Baylor is vulnerable, but damn UNC might come out of the East.

I agree with Kalk we'd have a fighting chance but we are so dependent on him on defense.

UNC might be having an all time choke here.
