That was a fun time. I didn't think anything could be louder than the DePaul Saturday night game with everyone liquored up, but this tonight was louder and even more insane.

Moore in the first half and Gillespie in the second were unstoppable.

I can live with the loss. Villanova earned it and is a great team. Hoping we play each other 4 times this season, ha ha.

Great game. Had a March Madness (deep tourney) feel about it.

Jeff Goodman saying last night was the 2nd best atmosphere he's been at this year- behind only Texas @ Texas Tech with all the Chris Beard going back to Lubbock stuff going on. Saw a video with him and you could tell he was so blown away by it.

Congrats to Providence fans on a great game! It could have gone either way. Villanova had to bring their A game and Gillespie had to have a career night for us to pull it off. The Dunk is the toughest place to play in the Big East when the crowd brings it like they did last night. Hoping for a big March for PC.

one thing I thought was funny from last nights game- Providence in KP saw their tempo rating jump by 37 spots from 296 to 259. Nova jumped as well, but only from 354 to 348.

It was really fun to watch a good college basketball game without being invested in the outcome. Congrats to both and to Nova for the win and PC for the atmosphere.

Gillespie was in full Gillespie mode. Just terrific when he needed to be terrific. I thought Durham was trying to do the same for PC. I don't really understand why Watson doesn't touch the ball every time PC is in half court. He's a beast and I will be happy when his 7 years at PC are over ; )

Props to Butler and DePaul, too. Switched over after the ending of first game and again enjoyed another close game. Lukosius put a bow on it down the stretch but no way he intended to bank that three...right?

I caught about 2 minutes of the Butler game before I was called to bed. And when that happens it’s an easy decision to turn off the television. DePaul was up 4 at that point and then I figured they just blew it. A banked in three? That’s a tough way to lose.

The lack of depth for DePaul is just KILLING them right now.

I read somewhere that they have 12 losses and have had 2nd half leads in nine of those games. My guess is that they've had a lead in the last five minutes in seven of those games.

They give everything they've got, and they consistently run out of gas after 30-35 minutes.

I expected Villanova to win, but would not have guessed that the score would come close to approaching the 80s. Villanova had to play nearly flawless basketball and they didn't seem rattled by the atmosphere which shouldn't surprise anyone. Frankly, I was maybe more surprised with how well PC played as I was definitely a skeptic. Can they keep things going after the all of the buildup and the close loss? It should be an interesting couple of weeks.

I actually thought in some ways Villanova let them stay in the game. Kind of kept PC in the game with the missed free throws that they had that is obviously very unusual for Nova. They had some chances when they were up 7 points during the game to kind of go for the kill shot and couldn't quite get it. Then PC made a clutch play or 2 and the game was tight again.
