No Marquette lol

lol, this idiot is the lowest rated ballot by far(guess they measure by extremes. He's extreme high or low by himself on 7 teams. His "score" is -31. The top rated guys are +2 and the next lowest person was -4.

AP Top 25 - 2/7/2022

11 Providence
15 Villanova
18 Marquette
24 Uconn
25 Xavier

The Big East continues to have five ranked teams this week. Xavier hanging out by a thread with Wyoming just behind

Shocked and glad to see Xavier & Uconn still ranked.

He's -800 on a weekly basis. It's so bad that he can't even claim metrics principle anymore because he's deviated from them.

Also just goes to show how different the voters are who post their ballots online (a dozen or so voters) vs everyone else. Only a couple had Xavier in (at at the very end of their ballots). Wyoming for instance easily would've made it going by the online ballots.

You know what it's kind of like- the Baseball Hall of fame voting. Often times see huge differences between the ballots that are revealed pre-election time and then the final numbers.

Yep exactly.

Also, I was curious what Providence's RPI is... and it's #3. I'm sure that would've dramatically affected their AP ranking had it still been in use. Still, I think #11 is fair overall and I'm certainly not complaining about the Big East's AP rankings this week. One of those rare week where we're overrepresented.

I don't know if Nova deserved to drop 3 spots, but AP pollsters have been kind to Nova and UCONN for much of the season. They've been fair to Marquette and Xavier, too. It just seems like Providence and Seton Hall don't get properly ranked when they deserve it.

I think it mostly has to do with NET. Nova is #6 in NET and UConn is #18. They've been in those positions for basically the entire year.

Providence is #3 when you take away margins (RPI) and #26 with margins (NET). Also #41 in KenPom (LOL!). Ignoring KenPom because that's nonsense, the average of their RPI and NET is #14.5, so I'm OK with the AP ranking of #11. Personally though I'd still put them top 10 at least. Wins should matter much more than advanced metrics when it comes to AP rankings.

Wow. I'm shocked. Voters must really respect the BE (minus Providence...how are they not Top 10 ?? SMH).

Pretty sure that the Friars made history today...

Thru 43 seasons, we're the first Big East school to be at 20-2, and *not* be ranked in the Top-10.

I checked 1980 thru 86, while we were still building our conference brand. Then i ran out of energy.

If anyone remembers any other instance, please post.
