I'm very annoyed by the cancellation with Northwestern. That was a winnable game for DePaul that could have given them a nice resume-booster heading into conference play. It's been so long since they've made the tournament and it's going to be difficult to not look back at this weekend if they end up just on the wrong side of the bubble.

This is so true , could have been a nice boost to their net.

Covid swept it's way through the final day of Big East F5 games on Saturday with rosters and entire games touched by the latest surge of sorts. The Johnnies drop a head scratcher to Pitt and the Hoyas and Bulldogs lose to TCU and Purdue respectively. We came in like a lion and went out like a lamb, but a lamb with a winning record yet again. Happy Holidays fellow BEast members. See you at the Garden.

Yes, thanks Redmen! BTW, since OOC games across big 6 conferences are essentially over (may be one or two mid-season matchups remaining, I really dunno), we can expect little change in the relative computer rankings among those conferences. The Big 12 and Big 10 have overall Sagarin rankings a step above the Big East and SEC, which have overall conference rankings a step above the Pac-12 and the ACC. We're currently 3rd, but with only a whisker's edge over the SEC. So that could change, but I just can't see us overtaking the top 2, nor falling below either of the bottom 2.

Another good year for the BEAST! Data don't lie; once again we are a top bball conference!

still have the Big 12/SEC challenge late January.

league is far more entrenched at #3 than you would think compared to the SEC.

It's all going to depend on the final standings and records- as it almost always does.. Only 5-6 teams can finish 10-10 and make the tourney w/o worry IMO. It would be pretty easy to come up with a final standings where the top 5 teams have 11-12 wins and then everyone else is at 9 or fewer wins. That makes it likely to have only 5 tourney teams.

I'd rather have 4-5 that all make it to the second weekend.

I'm with you. Having 7 sounds great, but if the best seed in there is a 4 seed and you have a bunch of 6-10 seeds, you probably aren't getting to the 2nd weekend many teams at all.
