Oh, I'm fully aware of what would come from that hire. But winning in Chicago is tough, and the end justifies the means IMO.

i guess "never say never", but based on what I know about DePaul, I'd be stunned if they even looked in Gregg Marshall's general direction, let alone hired him.

Some of this might be speculation, but these names were linked to the DePaul job in The Athletic in recent days:

DePaul, and all other high-major programs, should run, not walk, away from any Duke/Coach K disciples. Believe me, you do not want to set your program back by hiring someone accustomed to recruiting elite talent year after year and then being forced to adjust by actually coaching.

There is, of course, the question of the buyout figure, which would require Indiana to commit between $10-$11 million over the next three years starting April 1. That’s the remainder of the term of Miller’s original deal, signed when he was hired in 2017. It requires Indiana to pay 100% of remaining guaranteed income through March 30 of next year. Starting April 1, 2022, it falls to 50%.
