X beat the spread when not hitting a single three. I'll take it, especially because the defense is looking respectable and with all the three-point options, the lack of shooting was an anomaly.

If CU opponents don’t come in and go insane from 3 at the CHI, they die at the CHI.

I was actually impressed with CU's ability to win without shooting well before this game. But Zegarowski hasn't looked like himself so far. Credit to McDermott to get others to emerge to make up for that. This is a dangerous team that can challenge nova.

Creighton just handed Seton Hall its worst loss in 15 years.

Well seton hall couldn't have looked more disinterested tonight. And this was always going to be a bad opponent for their refusal to contest threes. Just a bad matchup.

IDK Man,
I will continue to say X has been exposed. If Scruggs continues to be a ghost, It's going to be a nightmare season. X goes as Scruggs goes.

In the moment based on his reaction, I would have sworn he broke his ankle. Glad it’s only a sprain.

So that shitshow somehow got the Pirates moved up a spot in the NET rankings lol

Good game Jays - the way your 3pt shooting had been struggling lately, it always felt like we'd be the lucky team that runs into your correction game. Of course I'm sure the defensive strategy of "just stand there and hope they brick wide open threes" didn't hurt.

Which leaves me harping on SHU's overall 3pt defense again. In Big East play:
-3 of 7 opponents have shot at least 50% from 3pt range
-2 more shot greater than 40%

As bad as last night was, it's just 1 loss in what I consider the toughest game on SHU's schedule this year (I think Nova's far and away the best team in the league but Creighton, stylistically, is a match-up nightmare for the Hall), but the 3pt defense trend needs to improve to have a shot at the NCAAs (especially because the Hall can't shoot threes either. Oh well, on to the next one.
