Good work Providence!

Hiccups? They may not even be favored.

Question for X fans... where’s KyKy? Seems to be the odd man out in the rotation. Is he hurt? Doghouse? Is it an issue of his D? They’re playing great so I guess Steele knows the right mix of players but his minutes seem t be dwindling. What’s up?

Yeah, that was impressive. The Sooners are a damn good team! Mad props to GQJ for the blueprint.... makes Coach Steele's job pretty easy when you have a stable of effective shooters.

How about that Freemantle kid? It's like JP all over again....We HAPPY!

BTW- Coach is not going to settle for anything less than 100% on BOTH ENDS. Tandy has to focus more after he splashes those deep 3's. Man, X is loaded and coming to entertain at an arena near you!

Has our resident data dumper computed the "luck factor" in X going 19 of 32 from beyond the arc last night? Or the luck factor in Freemantle, Johnson and Scruggs going a combined 27 of 38 from the field?

And Watson and Duke were 19-32 from the floor for PC...probably luck, too...tho me thinks the data dumper only calls it luck when X is involved.

Should be a fun game Saturday.

Wow! Well X certainly showed they have some firepower - now the question is if they can find some consistency. The X team from last night looked like a top half of the Big East team. The one that scraped out single possession wins over Bradley, Toledo and Eastern Kentucky looked more likely to be duking it out with Georgetown this year. Which one are we going to see on a nightly basis in the Big East?

Keep in mind that Xavier did not have Jones, Kunkel and Wilcher available prior to UC and OU. Now at full strength and with momentum. No more palace intrigue; this is Steele’s team now.

I think you are jumping the gun just a bit. I think X should finish as a top half Big East team but this still a young and new group, there are going to be bumps in the road

I'm excited about the way the team is playing with their full roster, but I'm not naïve to think we are world beaters. If we start beating this years Alphas; Nova and Creighton then I think this team has second weekend potential. Right now I think we are a team that is getting better and will be in the conversation for the NCAA tournament at the end of the year.

The gun has MOST certainly been jumped, however, that was the most fun I've had watching basketball since the Florida State NCAA win several years ago. Big opponent. Near perfect performance. Absolute pasting of a good team. Oklahoma has a good offense...not sure how interested they are on the other end of the court...And X will see plenty of teams in the Big East that are MUCH more interested on D.

Last night was the release of 3 years of angst for Xavier nation. Are we getting ahead of ourselves? Absolutely, but please forgive our giddiness...it comes after a long dark winter (three years).

I’m not jumping anything. Everything that I wrote is factual. I didn’t imply or state that it will be smooth sailing from here on. X is young and does have a number of new moving parts, so bumps are to be expected.

BUT, I like the talent, enthusiasm and chemistry exhibited to date. We at least have reason to have cautious optimism, versus season long angst about turnovers and putrid shooting.

Oklahoma actually played a pretty good game until the barrage of mostly uncontested 3's. Lon Kruger ain't no slouch. Love the new uptempo.
