Well, this is a pleasant surprise. The good folks at Mohegan Sun gave us a good contest. Va. Tech actually beat Nova?
It's a good thing. Lots of early surprises thus far. More to come.

So here's an interesting little tidbit that came out of that game vs. VTech. Up 1 with 10 seconds to play Justin Moore is fouled. TV screen says Bonus+ but they award JM only a 1&1. He missed the front end. I dismissed it at the time thinking that ESPN graphics guy screwed up. Nope... Apparently scorer failed to tell the Refs it was 2 shots. That was indeed their 10th foul of the half. Oops.

Now, we don't know how things would have played out. Would JM have relaxed a bit on the first, knowing he had 2 to shoot? Would he have still missed the first and then tightened more and missed the 2nd? Def possible. Would CG have fouled the guy going in for an easy layup had it been a 2 point game instead of a 1 point game? If a tie game, would VTech still put pressure on the inbounds that created the same charge call?

All up for conjecture but definitely a big error that cost the Cats something...

Now after being down a handful in the first half we wrestled control of the game from VT, seemed to have them in complete control and then unraveled a bit. Hopefully that lesson is learned, and now is the time to learn it. What I learned from the weekend is Gillespie is a stud at the point. JRE looks the part of unanimous 1st team all-BE (and maybe more). Caleb Daniels is a big time player--fits right in and is going to be a problem for teams.

So for all those in Omaha, Storrs, Providence, & Milwaukee eyeing up hat sizes for the crown, I'd wait a bit an see, if I were you...

I noticed that as well, it said double bonus on the graphic but after Moore missed everyone was scrambling for the ball so I though that must have been a mistake...
