GTMO I like your optimism. I said it before I'd say it again, this is the most apathetic I've been in my 11yrs of fandom.
Couple nit picks with your take: Gardener is a walk on, he's more talented than your average walk on in that he had low major offers but a walk on none the less. Ike is medically ineligible we're just honoring his scholarship, and Perez isn't eligible this season they aren't even trying for a waiver.
That leaves
Akanno: lotta hype but I'm hesitant with red shirt players
Torrence: had some flashes last year in limited minutes
Elliott: let's be honest he's made of glass and while decent is too stick thin to be a BE player
Cain: hoping it gets put together this year. But said that since he looked good his freshman year.
John: can't play more than 30sec without fouling. Hoping he adds a slight offensive game because nothing was more cringeworthy than watching him repeatedly slam layups off the backboard with so much force they'd bounce to the free throw line
Now Lewis and Oso I'm hopeful for. They're quality top 100 recruits but they're in the 75-100 range which leads me to believe they'll take a year or two to develop.
Which leave me with my original take of DJ, Dawson and Koby. That's a great three if they put it together that could get us to 3rd. But they could also be what I fear them to be.
