First of all, you rank Milwaukie 2nd...based on Miller and PBR? Do you have constant constipation issues and need help cleaning yourself out? Because that's about all those beers are good for. You should eat more vegetables and fiber if that's the case...

Goose Island, while a perfectly fine beer, is also a sellout to InBev.

A lot of the other city beers I haven't had, so I can't comment. I'd be more than happy to try them though, if I can ever travel again...

As for Philly, YARDS!!!! I basically lived on the stuff when I lived in Philly. And if we're being specific to the main line, there are some great ones there as well; Tired Hands is right down the road from Villanova in Ardmore, and lots of other good stuff in the vicinity as well. And if we're opening up to the 'Philadelphia Area' (not sure if we're allowing that as well), I would consider Dogfish Head, Victory, Troegs, and Weyerbacher all make outstanding beers and are considered local beers by Philadelphians (and a ton more that I'm not remembering since I've been gone for 5 years). And of course, you can't forget Lager. Yes, it's been eclipsed these days by more adventurous mircrobrews, but for most of us it was the first beer we stole from our fathers, so it will have a special place in our hearts.

Also I'm 23 and just graduated college last year. So I'm just now experiencing beer not consumed from a keg. I've been drinking nothing but Miller and PBR up to this point, so give me a break here.

Hmm never heard of Yards. We have a new writer from Philly though, so I'll ask him about it.

You guys had some fancy keg beer if you were getting Miller and PBR we had Keystone Busch Milwaukee's Best and Natty. None of which I could stomach by the end of my fifth year at MU.

Imagine actually liking PBR, lol. OP you have proven wherever you're from isn't really into beer. I am not usually a defender of anything Philadelphia, but PBR is at the bottom of the dung pile in Philly.

What's wrong with it? It's (hopefully) cold, cheap, and you can drink a lot of it. It's not going to fill you up like IPAs or other typical microbrews. Every beer has a purpose.

Besides, being able to produce a uniform product at that quantity, especially one that uses living organisms, is quite a feat.

I like to support local where I can, but I'm not going to knock the macros for what they do.

And good beer comes in kegs as well. My kegerator currently has a 4 star rated (on Untapped) NODA IPA (https://nodabrewing.com/our-beers/hop-drop-n-roll/) and a Belgian Brune (https://www.munklebrewing.com/beer) on tap.

EDIT: Oh, and after reading the latest article, yes, the Palestra is a better, and more historical arena, than the Pavilion. I don't even hate to admit it. Yes, sneaking in through the pool for games I couldn't get tickets for will always be a fond memory for me, but the Palestra is one of the original cathedrals of basketball, and the home of the Big 5, even though they don't play the double headers there anymore. It's big, open, airy, and smells of sweat of decades of great games.

Haven't read the thread yet, but here are my rankings I love craft beer so I feel these are pretty educated Included how many 2020 Great American Beer Festival medals breweries in the cities brought home last week:
1) Indianapolis. Sun King is the most well known here definitely underrated. 2020 GABF medals 8
2) Cincinnati Madtree, Rhinegeist are great 2020 GABF 2
3) Chicago: goose Island is the big name but has gone down hill since AB- Inbev took over, Half Acre is another solid one. 2020 GABF medals 6
4) NYC Other Half is one of the best breweries in the country, Evil Twin is also top 50. 2020 GABF 4
5) Philadelphia: Tired Hands while outside the city limits I would consider part of the philly beer scene is a top 25 brewery and the beer scene in the city is great tons of beer gardens and beer bars with great lists. Monk's Cafe is visited from states all around Pennsylvania for their belgian imports and breweries over there create beer specifically for them. very underrated in your list. Lived there for 4 years. 2020 GABF 1
6) Milwaukee: Madison is actually a better beer town in wisconsin. Milwaukee is dominated by the big macro companies. 2020 GABF 0 ( Madison had 1)
7) DC: Definitely rising in the beer scene. Other Half just opened a brewery in DC and that alone will boost the city for beer drinkers. When you include suburbs ( which I did for all cities) GABF medals 2
8) Omaha infusion is good 2020 GABF 0
9) Providence: Lack of happy hours hurts providence and the breweries I tried in the state weren't much to write home about. I lived there for a year and visit regularly and my parents live there so visit often (pre-covid) 2020 GABF 0

11) South Orange 2020 GABF 0

I feel like basing it purely off 2020 isn't right. I mean Three Floyd's isn't listed but Marshmellow Handjee is recognized on beer advocate 250 as the second best beer. GABF is a solid additional metric but it's a snapshot based on who is competing that isn't necessarily reflective of the whole scene
