Here is my list of the places I have been:
DC: Port City/DC Brau
Indy: Sun King
MWK: Fixed Gear (awesome brewery place)
Cincy: really like Hofbrauhaus

I think I need to try more beers.

I would entertain inviting back the original Fredo: BC, just to claim Tree House and Trillium as BE geography brewers. Tremendous brewers.

Marquette wins for me for Lake Louie Pale Ale.

Only sold in small batches, it’s brewed on a parcel outside Madison by Louie, a 300 lb Dairy farmer and the “lake” is his half acre, manmade, fully stocked Fishing hole/mud puddle. It’s only sold in Wisconsin, and one of the things I miss most about Madison.

Imagine actually liking PBR, lol. OP you have proven wherever you're from isn't really into beer. I am not usually a defender of anything Philadelphia, but PBR is at the bottom of the dung pile in Philly.

Here’s some Milwaukee brewing nostalgia:

The History of Beer in Milwaukee - Gear Patrol
At one time considered the “Beer Capital of the World”, Milwaukee was home to four of the largest brewers in the U.S. Now the city is home to only one: the Miller Brewing Co.

Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company - Wikipedia
The Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company was an American brewery based in Milwaukee and was once the largest producer of beer in the United States.

Its namesake beer, Schlitz was known as "The beer that made Milwaukee famous" and was advertised with the slogan "When you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer". Schlitz first became the largest beer producer in the US in 1902 and enjoyed that status at several points during the first half of the 20th century, exchanging the title with Anheuser-Busch multiple times during the 1950s. Schlitz was bought by Stroh Brewery Company in 1982 and subsequently sold along with the rest of Stroh's assets to Pabst Brewing Company in 1999.

Hey buddy, I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt by our article. I honestly had just been told that the second biggest Oktoberfest was in Cincy second to Berlin, so I went with it. So that's my bad. If you're coming to The Broken Anchor looking for some hard-hitting journalism seriously breaking this stuff down, you're here for the wrong reasons. I'm a 23 year-old kid from Dayton, Ohio who went to Xavier and started a content company with my two friends from high school. Our blogs are just meant to start a conversation, make a couple of jokes, have a good time talking about it, and keep it moving. Never was it meant to hurt anyone's feelings like I clearly hurt yours, so I apologize for that. I'll do a little bit of a better job with the fact checking next time. Thanks for reading us, though!

If you want something a little more up your alley, I wrote a blog the other day about how Dayton is and will always be Xavier's little brother. You can read that one right here:https://thebrokenanchor.com/why-dayton-will-always-be-little-brother-to-xavier/

Have a good one, pal. Go X.

First of all, you rank Milwaukie 2nd...based on Miller and PBR? Do you have constant constipation issues and need help cleaning yourself out? Because that's about all those beers are good for. You should eat more vegetables and fiber if that's the case...

Goose Island, while a perfectly fine beer, is also a sellout to InBev.

A lot of the other city beers I haven't had, so I can't comment. I'd be more than happy to try them though, if I can ever travel again...

As for Philly, YARDS!!!! I basically lived on the stuff when I lived in Philly. And if we're being specific to the main line, there are some great ones there as well; Tired Hands is right down the road from Villanova in Ardmore, and lots of other good stuff in the vicinity as well. And if we're opening up to the 'Philadelphia Area' (not sure if we're allowing that as well), I would consider Dogfish Head, Victory, Troegs, and Weyerbacher all make outstanding beers and are considered local beers by Philadelphians (and a ton more that I'm not remembering since I've been gone for 5 years). And of course, you can't forget Lager. Yes, it's been eclipsed these days by more adventurous mircrobrews, but for most of us it was the first beer we stole from our fathers, so it will have a special place in our hearts.

Aw why can't we be friends??? That's not very nice!

Also I'm 23 and just graduated college last year. So I'm just now experiencing beer not consumed from a keg. I've been drinking nothing but Miller and PBR up to this point, so give me a break here.

Hmm never heard of Yards. We have a new writer from Philly though, so I'll ask him about it.
