I've always wondered why theyre so fast to cut swimming. Once you have a pool, overhead, outside of a coach and scholarships, has to be pretty low.

Seriously, respecting the need to be careful and to protect lives, can you imagine what has been going through the minds of B1G football players, especially the highly-rated ones, as they were put on the sideline while all this was getting hashed out, and with them watching other conferences, local high schools and the pros all playing football?

In the long run, the party most likely isn't over for college athletic budgets, but it probably is "over", or will be tempered with respect to "cash in, cash out" spending practices. So, perhaps no more "lampshade parties" in the big athletic departments anymore. Maybe that even means hold/downward pressure on coaching salaries. We'll see.
