Upcoming Season - Plans Being Considered

The Big East and Big Ten are two conferences that have discussed using a bubble for basketball this season, per sources. However, it’s just one of multiple options that has been discussed.

I'm glad creative solutions are being considered in an attempt to try and salvage college basketball season. The NBA has definitely appeared to have created an effective model for protection and competition, a model that could not be easily duplicated for the NFL, college football or baseball. It is in college basketball's best interest to try and duplicate anything they can that has worked in hopes of getting this season started, uninterrupted and, God willing, completed.

So, what would this look like? A NYC bubble? A Philadelphia bubble? I don't see the need to rent out a cavernous NBA arena if we aren't having fans (but maybe we do because they have more space and allows for better entry/exit/testing procedures). A two-month conference season (January/February)? Maybe extend it into mid-December? Would need to get the kids and families home for Holidays. Perhaps start in early-December, allow for two-weeks off for Holidays, and return? Play the BET in early March at same location (or transition it to NYC)?

Lots of unknowns. But glad it is still being discussed. For student-athletes, if they can remain e-learning, and kept safe with low risk, it is possible.

Fantastic that they are exploring options. Maybe they could have an east bubble and a west bubble and a three game title series. You wonder if they have any plans for the BET?

Testing is expensive though, doesnt NBA test everyone twice a day? Supposedly their bubble costs 120 million, sure its season is longer but the Big East doesnt have near that amount of money.

For what it's worth, the Marriott Marquis is literally connected to Wintrust Arena via a sky bridge.

And both are across the street from the McCormick Place Convention Center.

Wintrust could definitely be a hub. What about XL in Hartford? I believe there are many hotels around that area. I'm assuming whatever gets done for the men's teams would need to be done, similarly, for the women's teams.

Maybe have two divisions - one in Chicago and another on the East coast.

Lots of chatter out there that half of the Big East and Big Ten could Co-habitate in two geographic bubbles, playing each other over 4-6 weeks. How awesome would an extended Gavitt Games be?

This is fantastic news, would love an extra chance to wallop Nebraska and playing a GarzaLess Iowa on a neutral site would be great as well as Wisconsin and Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue and Illinois ... bring em on!

if we play Iowa, it won't be GarzaLess, he withdrew from the draft. It would be nice to play the other Big schools!
