I won't even bring up losing out on a D2 transfer to an MVC school.

Hoping this is very much a "things look darkest before the dawn" kind of deal.

Well, the Salukis were very good 20 years ago....

Anyone else see "Courvoisier" and immediately think of this:

1st Team All-MVC guard Javon Freeman-Liberty from Valpo has committed to DePaul, per... well... the kid's twitter account. That seems pretty official.

They might be better than Georgetown this year.

Blue Demons doing “damage control” with a influx of transfers…

Courvosier McCauley, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Lincoln Memorial DII, is coming off a sophomore season, where he averaged 20 points and 6.3 rebounds, while making nearly 44-percent of his 236 three-point attempts.

Image

That type of production and shooting has led to interest from nearly 10 high major schools. Thus far, McCauley has picked up Iowa State, Georgetown, Georgia, South Carolina, DePaul, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas A&M and Arkansas. Sit 1 transfer.

After Courvoisier McCauley announced he was transferring to DePaul on April 22, the Blue Demons have now secured a second player via the transfer portal in a matter of nine days. On Friday, Valparaiso transfer Javon Freeman-Liberty announced he was coming back home to play for DePaul.

Before Freeman-Liberty entered the transfer portal, he tested the NBA Draft but pulled his name out of the draft on April 28 and decided to leave Valparaiso. The 6-foot-3 guard led Whitney Young to the Illinois class 4A state championship in 2017 and a second straight championship appearance the following year.

As a freshman at Valparaiso, he started all 33 games and was a member of the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman and All-Defense teams. While playing 31.2 minutes per game, Freeman-Liberty averaged 11 points, 4.3 rebounds, two assists and 1.8 steals.

During the 2019-2020 season, Freeman-Liberty’s points skyrocketed to 19 per game, while also averaging 6.1 rebounds. The sophomore ranked 12th in the country in total steals (74), 15th in steals per game (2.24) and 18th in total field goals made (227). After leading his team to a 19-16 record, Freeman-Liberty was named to the MVC All-First and All-Defensive teams, while also landing on the Most-Improved team. Sit 1 transfer I believe.

3rd is a charm – Grad Transfer Ray Salnave…
Monmouth graduate transfer Ray Salnave has committed to DePaul, he told ZAGSBLOG.
He will be immediately eligible after averaging 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists last season for the Hawks.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Elmont, N.Y. native also considered Loyola Marymount, while St. John’s had briefly been in the picture. DePaul assistant Marc Hsu gets the assist on the recruitment.
“I’m going to DePaul,” Salnave said by phone. “It was real tough, that’s why the process got dragged out so long. DePaul has been there from the very beginning.

The former NYC Cardozo High School star averaged 11.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a junior at Monmouth.
Salnave figures to play in the backcourt with Charlie Moore, with both guards being able to play on and off the ball.

Plus the Demons have Grad Trans Fwd DJ Wms from GW (Geo. Wash. U., in DC), 6-7/200 (former 4 star) and Frosh Kobe Elvis from Ontario, CAN. Elvis is a 3 star 6-2/180 Combo Guard.

Demons will be okay.

I think you can put Georgetown last as of now.
